How to use

Validol is administered sublingually. The capsule should be kept in the mouth under the tongue until completely dissolved. Take 1 capsule 2-3 times a day. The daily frequency and duration of Validol intake are determined based on the effectiveness of treatment. If the effect is insufficiently pronounced or if no effect is observed in some patients within 5 minutes after taking the medication, it is necessary to consult the attending physician for the appointment of alternative therapy.

Валидол назначают под язык. Капсулу следует держать во рту под языком до полного рассасывания. Принимают по 1 капсуле 2-3 раза в день. Суточная кратность и продолжительность приема валидола определяется в зависимости от эффективности лечения. При недостаточно выраженном эффекте или, когда у отдельных больных в ближайшие 5 мин после приема препарата эффект не наблюдается, необходимо обратиться к лечащему врачу для назначения другой терапии.

Composition

1 capsule contains levomenthol solution in menthyl isovalerate - 50 mg,
composition of the shell based on absolutely dry substance: medical gelatin - 17 mg, glycerol - 5 mg, methylparaben (nipagin) - 0.14 mg.

Capsules of spherical shape, from colorless to light yellow, filled with a transparent oily liquid with a menthol scent.

состав оболочки в пересчете на абсолютно сухое вещество: желатин медицинский - 17 мг, глицерол (глицерин) - 5мг, метилпарагидроксибензоат (нипагин) - 0,14мг.

Капсулы шарообразной формы, от бесцветного до светло-желтого цвета, заполнены прозрачной маслянистой жидкостью с запахом ментола.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

With prolonged use of Validol, mild nausea, tearing, and dizziness may occur. These symptoms usually resolve on their own.

In case of overdose, the following may be observed: headache, nausea, agitation, heart dysfunction, decreased blood pressure, CNS depression. If symptoms of overdose occur, the medication should be discontinued and symptomatic treatment should be administered.

The use of this product in conjunction with depressant-type neurotropic drugs enhances their depressant effect on the central nervous system, promotes the onset of sleep, and leads to a deeper sleep pattern.
Simultaneous use of Validol with nitrates reduces the headache that occurs with their use.

При длительном приеме валидола могут наблюдаться легкая тошнота, слезотечение, головокружение. Эти явления обычно проходят самостоятельно.

При передозировке препарата могут наблюдаться: головная боль, тошнота, возбужденное состояние, нарушение деятельности сердца, снижение артериального давления, угнетение ЦНС. В случае возникновения клинической картины передозировки необходимо отменить препарат и проводить симптоматическую терапию.

Применение вместе с нейротропными препаратами угнетающего типа действия усиливает угнетающее действие последних на ЦНС, способствует наступлению сна и его более глубокому течению.
Одновременное применение Валидола с нитратами уменьшает головную боль, которая возникает при их применении.

Pharmacology

Exerts a sedative effect, possesses moderate reflex vasodilatory action due to the irritation of sensitive nerve endings. Stimulates the production and release of enkephalins, endorphins, and a number of other peptides, kinins (due to the irritation of mucosal receptors), which play an active role in regulating vascular permeability and the formation of pain sensations.

When administered sublingually, it is absorbed through the mucous membrane of the oral cavity. After absorption, it is biotransformed in the liver and excreted in the urine as glucuronides.

Оказывает седативное действие, обладает умеренным рефлекторным сосудорасширяющим действием, обусловленным раздражением чувствительных нервных окончаний. Стимулирует выработку и высвобождение энкефалинов, эндорфинов и ряда других пептидов, кининов (за счет раздражения рецепторов слизистой оболочки), которые принимают активное участие в регуляции проницаемости сосудов, формирования болевых ощущений.

При сублингвальном применении абсорбируется со слизистой оболочки полости рта. После всасывания биотрансформируется в печени и выделяется с мочой в виде глюкуронидов.

The drug has a sedative effect and possesses moderate reflex vasodilatory action due to the irritation of sensitive nerve endings. It is used to reduce symptoms of fear, anxiety, and tension, as well as to alleviate mild heart pain. Validol is indicated for conditions such as: functional cardialgia; neuroses; and as an antiemetic for motion sickness and air sickness. Validol is administered sublingually. The capsule should be kept in the mouth under the tongue until completely dissolved. The recommended dosage is 1 capsule 2-3 times a day. The daily frequency and duration of Validol intake are determined based on the effectiveness of treatment. The course of treatment and dosage should be prescribed individually depending on health status and symptoms. The medication is available in capsule form of 50 mg in a package of 40 capsules.
