Venarus 100 mg + 900 mg

Venarus® is indicated for the therapy of symptoms of chronic venous diseases (elimination and relief of symptoms). Therapy for symptoms of venous-lymphatic insufficiency:

• cramps in the lower limbs;

• sensation of heaviness and fullness in the legs;

• pain;

• leg fatigue. Therapy for manifestations of venous-lymphatic insufficiency:

• swelling of the lower limbs;

• trophic changes in the skin and subcutaneous tissue;

• venous trophic ulcers. Symptomatic therapy of acute and chronic hemorrhoids.

Method of administration and doses

Orally.
The recommended dose for venous-lymphatic insufficiency is 1 tablet per day, preferably in the morning, during meals. The score on the tablet is intended solely for splitting to facilitate swallowing.
The duration of the treatment course may last several months (up to 12 months). In case of recurrence of symptoms, upon the doctor's recommendation, the treatment course may be repeated.
The recommended dose for acute hemorrhoids is 3 tablets per day (1 tablet in the morning, afternoon, and evening) for 4 days, then 2 tablets per day (1 tablet in the morning and evening) for the following 3 days.
The recommended dose for chronic hemorrhoids is 1 tablet per day.

Section: Composition

1 film-coated tablet contains:
active substances:
diosmin (calculated as 100% substance) - 900 mg, hesperidin (calculated as 100% substance) - 100 mg.
excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium carboxymethyl starch (sodium starch glycolate), gelatin, talc, magnesium stearate;
excipients of the tablet coating: hypromellose (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose), macrogol 6000 (polyethylene glycol 6000), sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, iron oxide red dye, iron oxide yellow dye.

Description of the dosage form

Film-coated tablets of orange-pink color, biconvex, elongated shape with rounded ends, with a score line. In a cross-section, the core is from grayish-yellow to brownish-gray in color.

Contraindications

Increased sensitivity to active components or excipients included in the preparation.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding period (experience of use is limited or absent).
Children under 18 years of age (experience of use is absent).

Special Instructions

Before starting to take the drug Venarus®, it is recommended to consult a doctor. In case of exacerbation of hemorrhoids, the prescription of Venarus® does not replace specific treatment for other anal disorders. The duration of treatment should not exceed the timeframes specified in the section "Method of Use and Dosage." If symptoms do not disappear after the recommended course of therapy, a consultation with a proctologist should be sought, who will determine further therapy.

In the presence of venous circulation disorders, the maximum effect of treatment is achieved by combining therapy with a healthy (balanced) lifestyle: it is advisable to avoid prolonged sun exposure, long periods of standing, and it is also recommended to reduce excess body weight. Walking and, in some cases, wearing special stockings can help improve blood circulation.

Section: Side Effects

The frequency of adverse reactions is presented as follows: very often (≥ 1/10 cases); often (≥ 1/100 and < 1/10 cases); occasionally (≥ 1/1000 and < 1/100 cases); rarely (≥ 1/10000 and < 1/1000 cases); and very rarely (< 1/10000 cases). Adverse reactions for which the frequency of occurrence cannot be estimated from the available data are designated as "frequency unknown." From the central nervous system: rarely - dizziness, headache, general malaise. From the gastrointestinal tract: often - diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting; occasionally - colitis; frequency unknown - abdominal pain. From the skin: rarely - rash, itching, urticaria; frequency unknown - isolated swelling of the face, lips, eyelids, in exceptional cases angioedema. Section: Pharmacodynamics

Venarus® has angioprotective and venotonic effects. It reduces the distensibility of veins, increases their tone, and decreases venous stasis; it lowers capillary permeability and increases their resistance. With systematic use, it reduces the severity of clinical manifestations of chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities of both organic and functional nature. The optimal "dose-effect" ratio is observed with a daily intake of 1000 mg.

Pharmacokinetics

The main excretion of the drug occurs through the intestines. On average, about 14% of the administered amount of the drug is excreted through the kidneys. The half-life is 11 hours. The drug Venarus® undergoes active metabolism, which is confirmed by the presence of phenolic acids in the urine.
