Naphazoline Renewal 0.1% Nasal Drops 25 ml

Indications

For acute rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, to facilitate rhinoscopy, to stop nasal bleeding.

Method of application and doses

In cases of rhinitis, administer in each nasal passage:
• adults: 1-3 drops of 0.05% - 0.1% of the preparation 3-4 times a day;
• children from 1 to 6 years: 1-2 drops of 0.05% of the preparation 1-3 times a day;
• children from 6 to 18 years: 2 drops of 0.05% of the preparation 1-3 times a day.
In cases of nasal bleeding, use tampons soaked in 0.05% of the preparation.
To facilitate rhinoscopy - after cleaning the nose, instill 3-4 drops into each nasal passage or insert a tampon soaked in 0.05% of the preparation and leave for 1-2 minutes.
In cases of rhinitis, the treatment course should not exceed 5-7 days for adults and no more than 3 days for children.

Instructions for using the dropper tube with a screw cap:
1. Screw the cap of the dropper tube tightly.
2. The tip under the cap will pierce the top of the dropper tube.
3. Open the dropper tube.
4. Squeeze the dropper tube, holding it between the thumb and index finger of one hand. Instill the required amount of the preparation into the nasal passage.
5. After use, tightly close the screw cap clockwise.

Composition

Active ingredient: naphazoline - 1.0 mg
Excipients: boric acid, purified water

Description of the dosage form

Transparent colorless or slightly colored liquid.

Contraindications

Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug, arterial hypertension, pronounced atherosclerosis, thyrotoxicosis, chronic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, severe eye diseases, closed-angle glaucoma, diabetes mellitus, tachycardia, simultaneous use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO) and the period up to 14 days after their discontinuation, age under 1 year (for 0.05% solution), age under 18 years (for 0.1% solution).

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The use of the drug during pregnancy is not recommended. Use during breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the child. Consultation with a doctor is necessary.

Special instructions

May have a systemic effect.
With prolonged use, the intensity of the vasoconstrictive effect gradually decreases (a phenomenon known as tachyphylaxis), which is why it is recommended to take a break for several days after 5-7 days of use.
After opening, use within 30 days.

Nausea, tachycardia, headache, increased blood pressure, reactive hyperemia, swelling of the nasal mucosa. Irritation, with use for more than 1 week - swelling of the nasal mucosa, atrophic rhinitis.

Section: Overdose

Symptoms: decreased body temperature, bradycardia, increased blood pressure.
Treatment: symptomatic.

Interaction

It should not be used simultaneously with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days after their use has ended.

Pharmacodynamics

Vasoconstrictor agent. Stimulates alpha1- and alpha2-adrenergic receptors, has anti-edema action. The vasoconstrictor effect is manifested when applied locally to the nasal mucosa. In rhinitis, it facilitates nasal breathing by reducing blood flow to the venous sinuses.

Vasoconstrictive effect occurs within a few minutes and lasts for several hours.
