"Biologically active food supplement (BAA) 'L-Carnitine' is available in the form of hard gelatin capsules weighing 875 mg.
Composition of active components per 1 capsule:
L-carnitine 480 mg
L-carnitine is an organic nitrogenous compound, isolated by Russian scientists Gulevich and Krimberg in 1905 from Liebig's meat extract, which was a popular food supplement at that time. The name originates from the Latin word carnis - 'meat'. However, research on carnitine, like many other biological compounds discovered in the early century, was suspended for a considerable period. It was only in 1947, thanks to the research of renowned scientists Frenkel and Blevet, that this unique substance regained interest in scientific and applied medicine.
When it was discovered in 1955 that the oxidation of fatty acids increases with the addition of carnitine, research in this area intensified, and in the 70s and 80s, it was conclusively proven that L-carnitine accelerates the transport of activated fatty acids in the form of acylcarnitine across the mitochondrial membrane. Without increasing the rate of fat tissue breakdown, carnitine enhances lipid utilization for energy supply, thereby slowing down the synthesis of fat molecules in subcutaneous fat depots.
Thus, with the onset of carnitine intake, a persistent loss of fat tissue begins, while the efficiency of fat oxidation in the body sharply increases, as fatty acids provide not toxic free radicals but energy stored in the form of ATP.
A remarkable property of carnitine is its ability to reduce cholesterol levels in the body and slow the formation of vascular atherosclerotic plaques. Under its influence, the formation of lecithin in the liver is enhanced, and since lecithin 'washes out' cholesterol from atherosclerotic plaques, it can be said that carnitine is one of the few compounds whose use allows for the achievement of active longevity.
Numerous studies have shown that L-carnitine positively affects body weight control.
When used in conjunction with a low-calorie diet and moderate physical activity, it leads to even more significant results: a reduction in low-density lipoprotein levels and blood pressure."

L-карнитин - органическое азотистое соединение, был выделен русскими учеными Гулевичем и Кримбергом в 1905 году из мясного экстракта Либига, являющегося в те годы популярной пищевой добавкой. Собственно, отсюда пошло и название: от латинского carnis - «мясо». Однако исследования карнитина, как и многих других биологических соединений, открытых в начале столетия, были приостановлены на достаточно долгий срок. И только в 1947 году, благодаря исследованиям известных ученых Френкеля и Блевета, это уникальное вещество вновь стало предметом интереса научной и прикладной медицины.
Когда в 1955 году было обнаружено, что окисление жирных кислот увеличивается при добавлении карнитина, работы в этой области интенсифицировались и в 70-80-х годах было строго доказано, что L-карнитин ускоряет транспорт активированных жирных кислот в виде ацилкарнитина через митохондриальную мембрану. Не усиливая скорости распада жировой ткани, карнитин повышает утилизацию липидов с целью энергообеспечения и, в результате, замедляет скорость синтеза молекул жира в подкожно-жировых депо.
Таким образом, с началом приема карнитина начинается стойкая потеря жировой ткани, при этом резко повышается эффективность окисления жиров в организме, поскольку жирные кислоты дают уже не токсичные свободные радикалы, а энергию, запасаемую в виде АТФ.
Замечательным свойством карнитина является его способность снижать содержание в организме холестерина и замедлять образование сосудистых атеросклеротических бляшек. Под его влиянием усиливается образование лецитина в печени, а поскольку лецитин «вымывает» из атеросклеротических бляшек холестерин, то можно говорить о том, что карнитин - это одно из немногих соединений, применение которых позволяет достичь активного долголетия.
Многочисленные исследования показали, что L-карнитин положительно влияет на контроль массы тела.
Если применять его в совокупности с низкокалорийной диетой и умеренными физическими нагрузками, это приводит к еще более значительным результатам: снижению уровня липопротеинов низкой плотности и артериального давления.
