Drug for the treatment of psoriasis.
Calcipotriol is a synthetic analogue of the active metabolite of vitamin D stimulates morphological differentiation and inhibits proliferation of keratinocytes, which underlies its therapeutic effect for psoriasis.
Calcipotriol is a potent inhibitor of activation of T-lymphocytes, induced by interleukin I.
The effect on calcium metabolism of calcipotriol is 100 times weaker than vitamin D 3 .
Transdermal absorption of calcipotriol, depending upon the dose, from 1% to 5%. Calcipotriol undergoes rapid biotransformation in the liver to produce pharmacologically active metabolites. T 1/2 is very short.

The active ingredient is:
calcipotriol 50 mcg.
polyethylene glycol stearate,
Psoriasis vulgaris, including chronic psoriasis of the scalp.
- Increased sensitivity to the drug.
- diseases associated with impaired calcium metabolism.
Precautions should be used when the drug: hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, hypervitaminosis D, nephrolithiasis. In children, due to the lack of application experience. In patients older than 65 years.
Dermatologic reactions: possible – local skin irritation, erythema and itching of the skin; rarely – dermatitis, exacerbation of psoriasis; in some cases – hyperpigmentation, photosensitivity.
From a metabolism: hypercalciuria, hypercalcemia.
How to accept, acceptance rate and dosage
The ointment is applied a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin 2 times / day. The therapeutic effect is usually observed within 1-2 weeks of starting treatment. Duration of treatment – no more than 6-8 weeks.
- For Adults: The maximum daily dose is 15 g, the maximum dose for a week – no more than 100 g
- For children over the age of 12 years: maximum dose per week is 75 g
- For children aged 6 to 12 years: maximum dose per week – no more than 50 g
Store at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Dayvoneks not be used simultaneously with preparations for topical use containing salicylic acid.
Do not apply ointment on the skin.
In order to avoid contact with skin faces hands should be washed after each application of ointment.
Hypercalcemia develops in excess of the maximum dose of calcipotriol per week. To remove the drug in the blood calcium concentration rapidly returning to normal.
Dayvoneks treatment can be combined with PUVA-therapy.
Effects on ability to drive vehicles and other machines that require high concentration of attention
Dayvoneks does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and management mechanisms.
Pregnancy and lactation
Safety of the drug during pregnancy and lactation has not been established.
It is not known whether calcipotriol is excreted in breast milk.
Symptoms: when using the drug in doses exceeding recommended may increase the calcium concentration in the blood.
Treatment: removal of preparation.
