• functional dyspepsia not associated with organic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
• chronic gastritis and gastroduodenitis in the acute phase, including those associated with Helicobacter pylori;
• peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase, including those associated with Helicobacter pylori;
• irritable bowel syndrome predominantly presenting with diarrhea symptoms.

For oral use. The duration of treatment and dosage of the medication is determined by the attending physician individually for each patient, depending on the nature of the disease.
Adults and children over 12 years of age are prescribed 1 tablet 4 times a day, 30 minutes before meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and at night, or 2 tablets 2 times a day, 30 minutes before meals (breakfast, dinner).
Children aged 8 to 12 years are prescribed 1 tablet 2 times a day, 30 minutes before meals (breakfast, dinner).
Children aged 4 to 8 years are prescribed a dose of 8 mg/kg/day; depending on the child's body weight, 1-2 tablets per day are prescribed (respectively, in 1-2 doses per day). The daily dose should be as close as possible to the calculated dose (8 mg/kg/day). Tablets are taken 30 minutes before meals, with a small amount of water.
It is recommended to swallow the tablet whole, without chewing or crushing, and to drink it with a sufficient amount of water. It is not recommended to take the tablets with milk. The duration of treatment usually ranges from 4 to 8 weeks. After completing the medication, it is not recommended to take medications containing bismuth (e.g., Vikalin, Vikaire) for 2 months.
For the eradication of Helicobacter pylori, the use of bismuth potassium dicitrate in combination with antibacterial agents that have anti-Helicobacter activity is advisable.

Active ingredient: bismuth potassium dicitrate – 304.6 mg, calculated as bismuth oxide – 120.0 mg.
Excipients: corn starch – 71.1 mg; potassium polyacrylate – 23.6 mg; povidone-K25 – 17.7 mg; macrogol-6000 – 6.0 mg; magnesium stearate – 2.0 mg.
Coating composition: hypromellose – 5.5 mg; titanium dioxide – 3.0 mg; macrogol-4000 – 1.5 mg.

Round biconvex tablets coated with a film, white or almost white in color, odorless or with a faint characteristic odor. A cross-section reveals two layers: a core that is white or white with a yellowish tint and a film coating.

The medication should not be used for more than 8 weeks. It is not recommended to exceed the established daily doses for adults and children during treatment. At the end of the treatment course with the medication at the recommended doses, the concentration of the active ingredient in the blood plasma does not exceed 3-58 µg/L, and intoxication is observed only at concentrations above 100 µg/L.
When using bismuth tripotassium dicitrate, darkening of the stool may occur due to the formation of bismuth sulfide.
Occasionally, slight darkening of the tongue is noted.

The side effects listed below, observed with the use of bismuth potassium dicitrate, are categorized by frequency of occurrence according to the following gradation: very common (> 1/10); common (> 1/100, 1/1000, 1/10000, < 1/1000); very rare (< 1/10000).Gastrointestinal disorders: very common - black stool; uncommon - nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation.Immune system disorders: uncommon - skin rash, itching; very rare - anaphylactic reactions.Nervous system disorders: very rare - with prolonged use at high doses - encephalopathy associated with bismuth accumulation in the CNS.Side effects are reversible and resolve quickly after discontinuation of the medication.If any of the side effects listed in the instructions worsen, or if you notice any other side effects not mentioned in the instructions, inform your doctor.In cases of using the drug in doses that exceed the recommended amounts by several times, or with prolonged use of elevated doses, bismuth poisoning may develop. Symptoms: dyspepsia; rash; inflammation of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity; characteristic darkening in the form of blue lines on the gums; with prolonged use of doses exceeding the recommended amounts, kidney function impairment may occur. These symptoms are completely reversible upon discontinuation of the drug. Treatment: there is no specific antidote. In case of overdose, gastric lavage, administration of enterosorbents, and symptomatic therapy aimed at maintaining kidney function are indicated. In the event of an overdose, the use of saline laxatives is also recommended. Further treatment should be symptomatic. In cases of kidney function impairment accompanied by high levels of bismuth in the plasma, chelating agents such as dimercaptosuccinic acid and dimercaptopropanesulfonic acid may be administered. In cases of severe kidney function impairment, hemodialysis is indicated.It is not recommended to take other medications orally, as well as food and liquids, particularly antacids, milk, fruits, and fruit juices, within half an hour before and half an hour after taking the drug. This is due to the fact that they may affect the effectiveness of bismuth potassium dicitrate when taken simultaneously. The drug reduces the absorption of tetracyclines.

By increasing the synthesis of prostaglandin E, the formation of mucus, and the secretion of bicarbonate, it stimulates the activity of cytoprotective mechanisms, enhancing the resistance of the gastrointestinal mucosa to the effects of pepsin, hydrochloric acid, enzymes, and bile salts. Leads to the accumulation of epidermal growth factor in the defect area. Reduces the activity of pepsin and pepsinogen.

Practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Excreted primarily with feces. A small amount of bismuth that enters the plasma is eliminated from the body by the kidneys.
