How to use

Take 1-2 sachets of granules dissolved in 200 ml of liquid, 3 times a day, after meals.

Excipients: citric acid; lemon flavor; orange flavor; sodium saccharin; sodium cyclamate; sunset yellow dye; povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone, Kollidon 24); fructose (levulose).

Contraindications & warnings

Severe renal failure with a creatinine level above 3 mg/100 ml; hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; lactation; pediatric age (due to insufficient data).

With caution:
Pregnancy.

When diagnosing hepatic encephalopathy due to the underlying condition, caution should be exercised when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and quick psychomotor responses.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

Gastrointestinal side effects: uncommon: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea.
Musculoskeletal and connective tissue side effects: very rare: limb pain.
The sunset yellow dye may cause allergic reactions.

Symptoms: exacerbation of side effects.
Treatment: gastric lavage, administration of activated charcoal, symptomatic therapy.

Pharmacology

Has a detoxifying effect, reducing elevated ammonia levels in the body, particularly in liver diseases. The action of the drug is associated with its participation in the ornithine cycle of urea formation (activates the cycle by restoring the activity of liver cell enzymes: ornithine carbamoyltransferase and carbamoyl phosphate synthetase). Promotes the production of insulin and growth hormone. Improves protein metabolism in conditions requiring parenteral nutrition. Contributes to the reduction of asthenic, dyspeptic, and pain syndromes, as well as the normalization of increased body weight (in cases of steatosis and steatoh hepatitis).

L-ornithine L-aspartate rapidly dissociates into ornithine and aspartate, and begins to take effect within 15-25 minutes, having a short half-life. It is excreted in the urine through the urea cycle.

Обладает детоксикационным действием, снижая повышенный уровень аммиака в организме, в частности, при заболеваниях печени.
