Pharmacology

INDOLE - A biologically active dietary supplement (BAD) - may be recommended as a dietary supplement for patients with fibrocystic mastopathy - to improve the functional state of the mammary glands. The supplement has a specific odor*, characteristic of the raw materials used, with varying degrees of intensity from weak to pronounced.

• The odor may be perceived individually by each consumer.

In a daily dose (3 capsules) contains: indole-3-carbinol – 270 mg (540 %1)2.

Indole-3-carbinol is a universal corrector of pathological hyperplastic processes in the organs and tissues of the female reproductive system (mammary gland, endometrium, myometrium, cervix, ovaries). It normalizes the balance of estrogens in the body and suppresses their negative stimulating effects, as well as blocks other (hormone-independent) mechanisms that activate pathological cell growth in the tissues of the mammary gland and uterus. It has the ability to induce selective death of transformed cells with abnormally high proliferative activity.

It is recommended to combine the dietary supplement "Indole®" with the dietary supplement "Epigalate®" for women with pathological conditions of the reproductive organs, including endometriosis, adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, and endometrial hyperplasia.

Women's reproductive health and the mammary gland
The mammary gland is a paired external secretion organ.
The mammary gland consists of:
parenchyma - glandular tissue with ducts of various calibers passing through it;
stroma - connective tissue that divides the gland into lobules;
adipose tissue, in which the parenchyma and stroma of the gland are immersed.
The shape, size, and position of the mammary gland have individual characteristics and depend on the age of the woman, the degree of development of her reproductive organs, and the phase of the menstrual cycle. The mammary glands reach full development after the first childbirth with a full-term pregnancy.
Being part of the female reproductive system, the mammary glands become targets for steroid hormones from the ovaries, adrenal cortex, prolactin, and hormones from other endocrine glands in the body. Changes in the mammary gland, ovaries, and uterus during the menstrual cycle are cyclical and synchronized. Moreover, the epithelium of the mammary gland is more sensitive to changes in estrogen levels, which explains the extremely high frequency of breast diseases.

Benign breast dysplasia
Benign breast dysplasia (BBD) is a group of diseases characterized by a wide range of changes in the tissues of the mammary gland with a disruption of their ratio.
One of the causes of breast dysplasia is a change in hormone concentration. An excess of estrogens with a simultaneous deficiency of progesterone leads to excessive stimulation of the growth and development of connective tissue (hyperplasia). In the tissue of the mammary gland, lumps (cysts) may develop.
Synonyms for BBD: mastopathy, fibrocystic mastopathy, fibrocystic disease, dysgormonally induced hyperplasia of the mammary glands, fibroadenomatosis.

Relevance of the problem. What women complain about
Mastopathy can occur with or without symptoms.
Most often, women complain of pain in the mammary gland (mastalgia or mastodynia) of varying intensity, lumps in the mammary glands, and discharge from the nipples. Pain in the mammary gland that occurs in the premenstrual period and disappears on its own with the onset of menstruation is called cyclical mastalgia.
In recent years, there has been a steady increase in the frequency of hyperplastic processes in both the uterus and mammary glands. Numerous studies note the presence of a range of gynecological diseases in women with breast pathology: endometriosis, hyperplastic processes of the endometrium and myometrium, polyps, background and precancerous diseases of the cervix.

Properties of indole-3-carbinol
Clinical studies have determined that the antitumor activity of cruciferous vegetables is due to the presence of indole-3-carbinol in their composition.
Natural sources of indole-3-carbinol are cruciferous vegetables: broccoli, radish, turnip, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and white cabbage, kohlrabi, mustard, rutabaga.
It has been established that indole-3-carbinol has a unique ability to significantly reduce the risk of tumor development in hormone-dependent organs and tissues by normalizing hormonal balance (ratio of estrogen metabolites) in women’s bodies.
Indole-3-carbinol has a protective effect on hormone-sensitive tissues, such as the mammary gland, uterus, cervix, endometrium, and other hormone-dependent tissues.
Thus, indole-3-carbinol helps maintain the health of the mammary gland. The addition of indole-3-carbinol to the diet may be recommended for both healthy women and women with mastopathy, including those predisposed to tumor diseases of the mammary gland or reproductive system.

Репродуктивное здоровье женщины и молочная железа
Молочная железа представляет собой парный орган внешней секреции.
Молочная железа состоит из:
паренхимы - железистой ткани с проходящими в ней протоками различного калибра;
стромы - соединительной ткани, разделяющей железу на дольки;
жировой ткани, в которую погружена паренхима и строма железы.
Форма, размеры, положение молочной железы имеют индивидуальные особенности и зависят от возраста женщины, степени развития ее половых органов, от фазы менструального цикла. Полного развития молочные железы достигают после первых родов с доношенной беременностью.
Молочные железы, являясь частью репродуктивной системы женщины, оказываются мишенью для стероидных гормонов яичников, коры надпочечников, пролактина и для гормонов других эндокринных желез организма. Изменения в молочной железе, яичниках, матке в течение менструального цикла цикличны и синхронизированы. Причем, эпителий молочной железы более чувствителен к изменениям уровня эстрогенов, чем и объясняется чрезвычайно высокая частота заболеваний молочной железы.

Доброкачественная дисплазия молочной железы
Доброкачественная дисплазия молочной железы (ДДМЖ) – это группа заболеваний, которая характеризуется широким спектром изменений в тканях молочной железы с нарушением их соотношения.
Одной из причин развития дисплазии молочной железы является изменение концентрации гормонов. Избыток эстрогенов при одновременном недостатке прогестерона приводит к чрезмерной стимуляции роста и развития соединительной ткани (гиперплазии). В ткани молочной железы могут развиваться уплотнения (кисты)
Синонимы ДДМЖ: мастопатия, фиброзно-кистозная мастопатия, фиброзно-кистозная болезнь, дисгормональная гиперплазия молочных желез, фиброаденоматоз.

Актуализация проблемы. На что жалуется женщина
Мастопатия может протекать как без проявления симптомов, так и с рядом симптомов.
При этом наиболее часто женщины жалуются на боль в молочной железе (масталгия или мастодиния) различной интенсивности, на уплотнения в молочных железах и выделения из сосков. Боль в молочной железе, возникающая в предменструальном периоде и самостоятельно исчезающая с наступлением менструации, называется циклической масталгией.
В последние годы наблюдается неуклонный рост частоты гиперпластических процессов как матки, так и молочных желез. Многочисленные исследования отмечают наличие у женщин с патологией молочных желез ряда гинекологических заболеваний: эндометриоза, гиперпластических процессов эндометрия и миометрия, полипов, фоновых и предраковых заболеваний шейки матки.

Свойства индол-3-карбинола
По результатам клинических исследований определено, что противоопухолевая активность овощных культур семейства крестоцветных обусловлена наличием в их составе индол-3-карбинола.
Природным источником индол-3-карбинола являются овощные культуры семейства крестоцветных: брокколи, редис, редька, цветная, брюссельская и белокочанная капуста, кольраби, горчица, брюква.
Установлено, что индол-3-карбинол обладает уникальной особенностью значительно снижать риск развития опухолей в гормонозависимых органах и тканях посредством нормализации гормонального баланса (соотношения метаболитов эстрогенов) в организме женщин.
Индол-3-карбинол обладает защитным действием на гормончувствительные ткани, такие, как молочная железа, матка, шейка матки, эндометрий и другие гормоно-зависимые ткани.
Таким образом, индол-3-карбинол способствует поддержанию здоровья молочной железы. Добавление индол-3-карбинола в рацион питания может быть рекомендовано как здоровым женщинам, так и женщинам с мастопатией, в том числе при предрасположенности к опухолевым заболеваниям молочной железы или органов репродуктивной системы.
