The synthesis of glutathione continuously occurs in almost all cells. However, the maximum amount is produced in the liver.
Age-related changes, the level of immune responses, the development of acute and chronic diseases are associated with the synthesis of glutathione. In particular, almost all major human diseases: Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, cataracts and glaucoma, osteoporosis and chronic lung diseases, atherosclerosis and diabetes - are accompanied by a decrease in the level of glutathione in the body.

GLUTATHIONE - A MARKER OF LIFE SPAN
Scientists assert: to know the reserve of life resources in the human body, it is enough to measure the level of glutathione. A decrease in glutathione levels by 30% already leads to serious disruptions in cells.
After the age of 28, the level of glutathione decreases on average by 1% each year. This is a natural process of metabolic slowdown. However, if you live in unfavorable conditions and lead an unhealthy lifestyle, the amount of glutathione will decrease even faster.

AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF THE BODY'S ANTIOXIDANT PROTECTION
In the human body, the formation of aggressive free radicals occurs continuously. Antioxidants protect us from the avalanche-like increase in their numbers.
There are four lines of antioxidant protection in the body that sequentially neutralize free radicals. The glutathione system, which includes glutathione itself and three other enzymes (glutathione peroxidase, glutathione transferase, and glutathione reductase), is the only one in the body that participates in three out of four lines of defense.

GLUTATHIONE IN LIVER DISEASES
It cannot be denied that the deterioration of the ecological situation, the increase in the number of medications used, and alcohol consumption do not leave our liver unscathed. Constant toxic load causes damage to liver cells, leading to inflammation and degeneration processes.
A vicious circle arises: the damaged liver is unable to produce sufficient amounts of glutathione, which, in turn, helps the liver cope with the constant toxic load.
Studies confirm that additional intake of glutathione is always accompanied by improvement in liver biomarkers and positive clinical dynamics in patients with alcoholic, viral, and toxic liver damage.

GLUTATHIONE - A STRONG FOUNDATION FOR THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
Glutathione activates natural killer cells (innate immune lymphocytes formed in the bone marrow) and modulates the functional activity of the T-cell component of immunity. Glutathione is also capable of suppressing the replication of various viruses, including influenza and herpes.
