Pharmacology
LOCOGEN - Biologically active food supplement (BAA) - chondroprotector containing MSM, type II collagen, and boswellia extract.
- Reduces inflammation and pain in the joints.
- Prevents damage and destruction of cartilage tissue.
- Treats joint diseases associated with calcification.
- Provides support in the treatment of joint diseases caused by factors such as age and sports injuries.
Properties of the components
Type II collagen forms the basis of any cartilage. When taken orally, type II collagen enters the small intestine and interacts with Peyer's patches in the gut-associated lymphoid tissue. In the Peyer's patches, regulatory T-cells are activated and release anti-inflammatory cytokines, helping to suppress the attack of T-cells on joint type II collagen, thereby reducing pain and inflammation. The desensitization process in the Peyer's patches, known as "oral tolerance," also prevents the immune system from recognizing endogenous cartilage type II collagen as an antigen, thus hindering the development of degeneration (destruction) of the joints.
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) - a natural compound and organic source of dietary sulfur, which consists of 34% bioavailable sulfur. Since sulfur compounds form the basis of connective tissue structure, MSM is effective in the processes of degeneration of joint cartilage. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, as well as inhibits the synthesis of (PGI2). Sulfur plays an important role in the formation of collagen and glucosamine, which are vital for healthy bones and joints.
Boswellia serrata - a tree that grows in the mountainous regions of India. The active components of boswellia are boswellic acids, which have pronounced anti-inflammatory activity due to the inhibition of the synthesis of anti-inflammatory enzymes. Boswellia also helps to reduce the levels of enzymes involved in cartilage degradation.

Свойства компонентов
Коллаген II типа составляет основу любого хряща. При приеме внутрь коллаген II типа поступает в тонкий кишечник и взаимодействует с пейеровыми бляшками в ассоциированной с кишечником лимфоидной ткани. В пейеровых бляшках регулирующие Т-клетки активируются и выделяют противовоспалительные цитокины, помогающие подавить атаку Т-клеток на суставной коллаген II типа, уменьшая таким образом боль и воспаление. Также процесс десенсибилизации в пейеровых бляшках, известный как «оральная толерантность», предотвращает распознавание иммунной системой хрящевого эндогенного коллагена II типа как антиген, тем самым препятствуя развитию дегенерации (разрушения) суставов.

Boswellia serrata-дерево, произрастающее в горной местности Индии. Активными действующими компонентами босвеллии являются терпеновые босвеллиевые кислоты, обладающие выраженной противовоспалительной активностью, обусловленной ингибированием синтеза противовоспалительных ферментов. Босвеллия также способствует снижению уровня ферментов, играющих роль в деградации хряща.
