Indications

The drug PIKLONORD® is indicated for use in adults and children from 0 years of age for:

• bacterial infections of the anterior segment of the eye;

• dacryocystitis.
The drug is also used for the prevention of infectious complications in the postoperative period following surgical interventions in the area of the anterior segment of the eye.

Препарат ПИКЛОНОРД® показан к применению у взрослых и детей от 0 лет при:

• бактериальных инфекциях переднего отдела глаза;

• дакриоцистите.
Также препарат применяется для профилактики инфекционных осложнений в послеоперационном периоде после хирургических вмешательств в области переднего отдела глаза.

How to use

Always use the medication in full accordance with the package insert or the recommendations of your healthcare provider. If in doubt, consult your healthcare provider or a pharmacist.
Recommended dosage:
Bacterial infections
1 drop 2-6 times a day.
Postoperative period
1 drop 3-4 times a day.
For the prevention of postoperative complications (preoperative preparation)
1-2 drops of the medication immediately before the surgical intervention.
Special patient groups
Elderly patients
Dose adjustment is not required.
Patients with liver and kidney dysfunction
Dose adjustment is not required.
Use in children and adolescents
Dose adjustment is not required.
Route and method of administration
The medication PIKLONORD® is intended for eye drops regardless of food intake.
Method of administration
In the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s).
1. Wash your hands.
2. Open the bottle. Take special care not to let the tip of the dropper touch the eye, the skin around the eye, or your fingers.
3. Tilt your head back and hold the bottle upside down over the eye.
4. Pull down the lower eyelid and look up. While holding and gently squeezing the bottle from both sides, instill one or two drops into the space between the eye and the lower eyelid.
5. Press a finger to the corner of the eye, towards the nose, or close your eyes for 2 minutes. This will help prevent the medication from entering the bloodstream.
6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for the other eye if recommended by your doctor.
7. Tightly close the bottle with the cap.
If you are using other eye drops or eye ointments, maintain an interval of at least 15 minutes between the applications of each medication. Eye ointments should be applied last.
Duration of therapy
The duration of treatment for bacterial eye infections is 10 days. The need for extending the treatment period beyond 10 days is determined by the doctor.
For other indications, the duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.

If you forget to use PIKLONORD®
If you forget to use PIKLONORD®, apply it as soon as possible at the dose prescribed by your doctor. Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you stop using PIKLONORD®
Do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor.
If you have questions about the use of the medication, contact your healthcare provider or a pharmacist.

Путь и способ введения
Препарат ПИКЛОНОРД® предназначен для закапывания в глаза независимо от приема пищи.
Способ введения
В конъюнктивальную полость пораженного глаза (пораженных глаз).
1. Вымойте руки.
2. Откройте флакон. Обратите особое внимание, чтобы кончик флакона-капельницы не касался глаза, кожи вокруг глаза или пальцев.
3. Наклоните голову назад и держите флакон вверх дном над глазом.
4. Оттяните нижнее веко вниз и посмотрите вверх. Удерживая и осторожно сжимая флакон с двух сторон, закапайте одну или две капли в пространство между глазом и нижним веком.
5. Прижмите палец к уголку глаза, к носу или закройте глаза на 2 минуты. Это поможет предотвратить попадание препарата в кровоток.
6. Повторите шаги с 3 по 5 для второго глаза, если это рекомендовано врачом.
7. Плотно закрутите флакон колпачком.
Если Вы применяете другие глазные капли или мази для глаз, выдерживайте интервал не менее 15 минут между применениями каждого из препаратов. Глазные мази следует применять в последнюю очередь.
Продолжительность терапии
Продолжительность лечения при бактериальных инфекциях глаз 10 дней. Необходимость продления срока лечения ˃10 дней определяется врачом.
При других показаниях продолжительность лечения определяется врачом.

Если Вы забыли применить препарат ПИКЛОНОРД®
Если вы забыли применить препарат ПИКЛОНОРД®, то примените его как можно скорее в дозе, предписанной врачом. Не применяйте двойную дозу, чтобы компенсировать пропущенную дозу.
Если Вы прекратили применение препарата ПИКЛОНОРД®
Не прекращайте лечение, не посоветовавшись с врачом.
При наличии вопросов по применению препарата обратитесь к лечащему врачу или работнику аптеки.

The drug PIKLONORD® contains
The active ingredient is picloxidine. 1 ml of the preparation contains 0.5 mg of picloxidine (as dihydrochloride).
Other excipients include anhydrous dextrose (glucose), polysorbate 80, water for injections.

The drug PIKLONORD® eye drops is a clear colorless or slightly yellowish solution.

Препарат ПИКЛОНОРД® содержит
Действующим веществом является пиклоксидин. 1 мл препарата содержит 0,5 мг пиклоксидина (в виде дигидрохлорида).
Прочими вспомогательными веществами являются декстроза (глюкоза) безводная, полисорбат 80, вода для инъекций.

Contraindications & warnings

Do not use the PIKLONORD® preparation
- if you are allergic to picloxidine or any other components of the preparation (listed in section 6 of the package leaflet).

Before using the PIKLONORD® medication, consult with your treating physician or a pharmacy staff member.
Do not use PIKLONORD® for injections into the conjunctiva of the eye and do not administer it into the anterior chamber of the eye.
PIKLONORD® does not change the color of contact lenses (including soft hydrophilic lenses); however, wearing contact lenses is contraindicated in cases of infectious diseases.

The use of PIKLONORD® may lead to allergic reactions, manifested as conjunctival redness.

If you experience any undesirable reactions, consult your doctor. This includes any undesirable reactions not listed in the leaflet. You can also report undesirable reactions directly (see below). By reporting undesirable reactions, you help gather more information about the safety of the medication.

If you have used the PIKLONORD® preparation more than intended,
rinse your eyes with warm water.

Inform your treating physician or pharmacist that you are using, have recently used, or may start using any other medications, including over-the-counter drugs.

Pharmacology

What is the PIKLONORD® medication and what is it used for

The PIKLONORD® medication contains the active ingredient picloxidine, which belongs to the biguanide group. When applied locally, picloxidine exhibits antimicrobial and antiseptic effects in eye infections caused by bacteria, as well as some viruses and fungi.

Mechanism of action of the PIKLONORD® medication

Picloxidine is a biguanide derivative, an antimicrobial agent, and has antiseptic properties. It is active against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Eberthella typhosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Shigella dysenteriae, Bacillus subtilis, Chlamydia trachomatis; some viruses and fungi.
If improvement does not occur or you feel worse, it is necessary to consult a doctor.
