Pimafucin 2% cream for external use 30 g

Fungal diseases of the skin and mucous membranes caused by pathogens sensitive to the drug, including:
• vulvitis, vulvovaginitis, balanoposthitis, primarily caused by Candida fungi;
• candidiasis of the skin and nails;
• otitis externa, either primarily caused by fungi or complicated by candidiasis;
• dermatomycoses.
Pimafucin can be used during pregnancy and lactation. There is no data on adverse effects of the drug on the fetus.

In cases of vulvitis, vulvovaginitis, and balanoposthitis, the cream is applied to the affected areas once or several times a day. In cases of persistent vulvitis or vulvovaginitis caused by Candida albicans, Pimafucin in the form of tablets or vaginal suppositories is additionally prescribed.

For dermatomycoses (including candidiasis of the skin and nails, and diaper rash in children), the cream is applied to the affected skin and nails once or several times (up to 4 times) a day.

In cases of external auditory canal mycosis, the affected area is smeared with the cream once or several times (up to 4 times) a day. The ear should be cleaned before applying the medication. After application, a tampon made of natural material (cotton, wool) is placed in the ear canal.

The duration of the treatment course is determined individually. After the symptoms of the disease have disappeared, it is recommended to continue treatment for several more days.

1 g of cream contains:
Active ingredients: natamycin 20 mg
Excipients: cetyl ether wax, decyl oleate (Cetiol V), sodium lauryl sulfate, propylene glycol, propylparaben, methylparaben, cetostearyl alcohol, purified water.

Cream from white to light yellow in color.

- Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Pregnancy and lactation

In the case of chronic or recurrent infections, local treatment may be supplemented with the prescription of Pimafucin in tablet form.
Use in pediatrics
Pimafucin® cream for external use can be prescribed to newborns.

Rarely, mild irritation or a burning sensation at the site of application may occur.

There have been no reported cases of overdose with the medication Pimafucin.

There is no data on drug interactions for this medication.

Natamycin - the active ingredient of the drug, is an antifungal polyene antibiotic with fungicidal action. Natamycin binds to sterols in cell membranes, disrupting their integrity and functions, which leads to the death of microorganisms. Most pathogenic yeast fungi are sensitive to natamycin, especially Candida albicans, as well as some protozoa (T. vaginalis). Dermatophytes are less sensitive. Resistance to natamycin among yeast fungi is not encountered in clinical practice.

When applied externally and locally, it is practically not absorbed through intact skin and mucous membranes.

Pimafucin can be used during pregnancy and lactation. The product is available in the form of a cream, which is applied to the affected areas of the skin or mucosa.
