How to use
Approximately 10 g (2 tablespoons) of senna leaves are placed in an enamel container, poured with 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid, and heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes. Then, the infusion is continued at room temperature until completely cooled, strained, and the remaining raw material is pressed. The volume of the resulting decoction is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.
Take orally 1/2 cup in the evening after meals. The treatment course is 2-3 weeks. It is recommended to shake the decoction before use.

Около 10 г (2 столовые ложки) листьев сенны помещают в эмалированную посуду, заливают 200 мл (l стакан) горячей кипяченой воды, закрывают крышкой и нагревают на кипящей водяной бане в течение 30 минут, затем продолжают настаивание при комнатной температуре до полного охлаждения, процеживают, оставшееся сырье отжимают. Объем полученного отвара доводят кипяченой водой до 200 мл.
Принимают внутрь по 1/2 стакана вечером после еды. Курс лечения 2-3 недели. Перед употреблением отвар рекомендуется взбалтывать.

Characteristics
Senna leaves contain anthraquinone derivatives, flavonoids, resinous substances, and mucilage. The anthraquinone derivatives are predominantly glycosides: glucooloemodin, glucorhein. Senna glycosides A and B (glucosides of dihydroanthrone). Free glycogen is also present.
Crushed raw material: Pieces of leaves of gray-green or yellow-green color, matte; thin stems – gray-green or brown; petioles, petals, buds – brownish-green, yellowish-green; flowers, sepals, and immature fruits of various shapes, passing through a sieve with holes of 7 mm in size.
The smell is weak. The taste of the aqueous extract is slightly bitter, with a mucilaginous sensation.

Листья сенны содержат антраценпроизводные, флавоноиды, смолистые вещества, слизь. В составе антраценпроизводных преобладают гликозиды: глюкоалоэмодин, глюкореин. Сеннозиды А и Б (глюкозиды диреинантрона). Содержатся свободные гликогены.
Измельченное сырье: Кусочки листочков серовато-зеленого или желтовато-зеленого цвета, матовые; тонких стеблей – серовато-зеленого или коричневого; черешков, лепестков, бутонов – коричневато-зеленого, желтовато-зеленого; цветков, чашелистиков и недозрелых плодов различной формы, проходящие сквозь сито с отверстиями размером 7 мм.
Запах слабый. Вкус водного извлечения слегка горьковатый, с ощущением слизистости.
Contraindications & warnings
Increased sensitivity to the drug; intestinal obstruction; abdominal pain of unclear origin; disturbances in water and electrolyte balance; acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal organs; proctitis and hemorrhoids (exacerbation phase); incarcerated hernia; gastrointestinal bleeding; uterine bleeding; cystitis; spastic colitis; pregnancy; children under 12 years of age.
Prolonged use of senna preparations may lead to dependence; therefore, it is advisable to alternate them with other laxatives.

Повышенная чувствительность к препарату, кишечная непроходимость, боли в животе неясного генеза, нарушения водного и электролитного обмена, острые воспалительные заболевания органов брюшной полости, проктит и геморрой (фаза обострения), ущемленная грыжа, кровотечения из ЖКТ, маточное кровотечение, цистит, спастический колит, беременность, детский возраст до 12 лет
При длительном применении препаратов сенны может развиться привыкание, поэтому целесообразно чередовать их с другими слабительными средствами.
Side effects, overdose & interactions
Possible allergic reactions, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea. With prolonged use - colitis.
Symptoms: diarrhea, disruption of water-electrolyte balance. Treatment is symptomatic.
Senna preparations reduce the absorption of tetracycline.
