Videstim 0.5% ointment 35 g

Inflammatory skin diseases and conditions accompanied by dryness and delayed healing: dermatitis, eczema, atopic dermatitis in remission, cheilitis, cracks (including those of the mammary gland nipples) and abrasions, age-related skin changes, as well as diseases associated with impaired keratinization processes. Used to activate reparative processes in various dermatoses after the cessation of treatment with glucocorticosteroid medications.

For external use. The ointment is applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin twice a day: early in the morning and late in the evening. In cases of severe skin peeling, an occlusive dressing may be used. Before applying the ointment, cracks and abrasions should be treated with antiseptics. For nipple cracks in breastfeeding mothers, the ointment is applied twice a day, in the morning and evening after feeding, with a 12-hour interval. The breast must be washed with warm water and soap before the next feeding after using the Videstim® ointment.
The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease and may range from 4 to 12 weeks.

Active ingredient: Retinyl palmitate (vitamin A) (calculated as 100% retinyl palmitate) - 5.0 mg (composition per 1.0 g of substance: retinyl palmitate - 1.7 million IU, butylated hydroxyanisole - 9 mg, butylated hydroxytoluene - 9 mg or retinyl palmitate - 1.7 million IU, butylated hydroxytoluene - 17 mg, sunflower oil up to 1.0 g).
Excipients: butylated hydroxytoluene - 0.5 mg, butylated hydroxyanisole - 0.25 mg, emulsifying wax - 80.0 mg, mineral oil - 80.0 mg, glycerol - 100.0 mg, ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 95% - 100.0 mg, purified water - up to 1.0 g.

Homogeneous ointment from white to light yellow in color.

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, hypervitaminosis A, acute inflammatory skin diseases.

Pregnancy and lactation
The use of the drug is possible in cases where the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

The drug does not affect the ability to drive a vehicle or perform tasks that require increased attention.

In some cases, an increase in itching and redness of the skin at the application sites may occur, necessitating temporary discontinuation of the medication until the severity of the condition decreases. Allergic reactions are possible.

Not to be used in combination with other products containing vitamin A and retinoids to avoid hypervitaminosis A. Incompatible with tetracycline antibiotics.

Videstim® stimulates skin regeneration, enhances the proliferation of skin epithelial cells, inhibits keratinization processes, and prevents the development of hyperkeratosis. The local action is due to the presence of specific retinol-binding receptors on the surface of epithelial cells.

Videstim® easily penetrates the skin, with maximum blood concentration reached 3-4 hours after application and maintained for 12 hours. The half-life is 5.5 hours.

Videstim 0.5% ointment is intended for the treatment of wounds, ulcers, burns, and other skin injuries. Its active ingredient is dexpanthenol, which accelerates healing and skin restoration, alleviates inflammation and itching. The ointment is quickly absorbed, does not leave a greasy shine, and does not cause irritation. Recommended for use in children and adults. Tube volume - 35 grams.
