Indications

Acute and chronic respiratory diseases accompanied by cough with the production of viscous sputum that is difficult to expectorate (including tracheobronchitis, obstructive bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pneumonia) – as part of combination therapy.

How to use

Orally, before meals.
Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day. For children, the tablet can be dissolved in 1/3 cup of water. The treatment course is on average 7-14 days.
If there is no improvement after treatment, or if symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, consult a doctor. Use the medication only as directed and in the doses specified in the instructions.

Внутрь, перед едой.
Взрослым и детям старше 12 лет по 1‒2 таблетки 2‒3 раза в день. Детям можно растворить таблетку в 1/3 стакана воды. Курс лечения в среднем 7‒14 дней.
Если после лечения улучшения не наступает или симптомы усугубляются, или появляются новые симптомы, необходимо проконсультироваться с врачом. Применяйте препарат только согласно тому способу применения и в тех дозах, которые указаны в инструкции.

Composition

1 tablet contains:
Active ingredient: extract of marshmallow root (with a polysaccharide content calculated as glucose 18%) – 50 mg.
Excipients: sodium bicarbonate, tartaric acid, calcium stearate.

Round flat-cylindrical tablets from light gray to brownish-gray in color with a bevel and score line, with a characteristic odor. The presence of darker and lighter specks is allowed.

Действующее вещество: алтея лекарственного травы экстракт (с содержанием полисахаридов в пересчете на глюкозу 18 %) – 50 мг.
Вспомогательные вещества: натрия гидрокарбонат, винная кислота, кальция стеарат.

Круглые плоскоцилиндрические таблетки от светло-серого до коричневато-серого цвета с фаской и риской, с характерным запахом. Допускается наличие более темных и светлых вкраплений.

Contraindications & warnings

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients; peptic ulcer disease; duodenal ulcer; age under 12 years.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

Disorders of the immune system: allergic reactions.
Disorders of the gastrointestinal tract: nausea.

To date, no cases of overdose have been reported.

Mucaltin can be prescribed simultaneously with other medications used in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases.
Mucaltin should not be used simultaneously with medications containing codeine and other antitussive drugs, as this complicates the expectoration of liquefied mucus.
If you are using the aforementioned or other medications (including over-the-counter) before using Mucaltin, consult your doctor.

До настоящего времени случаев передозировки не зарегистрировано.

Мукалтин можно назначать одновременно с другими препаратами, применяемыми при лечении бронхолегочных заболеваний.
Мукалтин не следует применять одновременно с препаратами, содержащими кодеин и другие противокашлевые лекарственные средства, так как это затрудняет откашливание разжиженной мокроты.
Если Вы применяете вышеперечисленные или другие лекарственные препараты (в том числе безрецептурные) перед применением препарата Мукалтин проконсультируйтесь с врачом.

Mucaltin is a mixture of polysaccharides from the herb Althaea officinalis, possessing expectorant properties.

Pharmacodynamics
Due to reflex stimulation, it enhances the activity of ciliated epithelium and the peristalsis of respiratory bronchioles, combined with increased secretion of bronchial glands.
