How to use
For adults and children aged 12 to 18 years, take 1-2 tablets before meals 2-3 times a day. For children, the single dose (1-2 tablets) can be dissolved in 1/3 cup of warm water. The average treatment course is 7-14 days. If there is no improvement during treatment, or if symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, consult a doctor. Use the medication only according to the indications, method of use, and dosages specified in the instructions.

Внутрь взрослым и детям в возрасте от 12 до 18 лет по 1-2 таблетки перед едой 2-3 раза
в день. При применении препарата у детей разовую дозу (1-2 таблетки) можно растворить в 1/3 стакана теплой воды. Курс лечения в среднем 7-14 дней.
Если в период лечения улучшения не наступает или симптомы усугубляются,
или появляются новые симптомы, необходимо проконсультироваться с врачом. Применяйте препарат только согласно тем показаниям, тому способу применения
и в тех дозах, которые указаны в инструкции.

Round, flat-cylindrical tablets with a bevel and score, from light gray to brownish-gray in color with darker and lighter speckles, with a faint characteristic odor.

Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug; peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum; age under 12 years (due to insufficient data on efficacy and safety in this age group); glucose-galactose malabsorption.

и двенадцатиперстной кишки, детский возраст до 12 лет (в связи с недостаточностью данных по эффективности и безопасности у данной возрастной группы), глюкозно-галактозная мальабсорбция.
Side effects, overdose & interactions
Allergic reactions are possible; rarely – dyspeptic phenomena.
If any of the side effects listed in the instructions worsen, or if you notice any other side effects not mentioned in the instructions, inform your doctor.
To date, no cases of overdose have been reported.
The drug can be prescribed simultaneously with other medications used in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases.
The drug should not be used simultaneously with medications containing codeine and other antitussive agents, as this complicates the expectoration of liquefied mucus.
If you are using the aforementioned or other medications (including over-the-counter), consult a doctor before using Mukaltin.

До настоящего времени случаев передозировки не зарегистрировано.
Препарат можно назначать одновременно с другими препаратами, применяемыми
при лечении бронхолегочных заболеваний.
Препарат не следует применять одновременно с препаратами, содержащими кодеин
и другие противокашлевые лекарственные средства, так как это затрудняет откашливание разжиженной мокроты.
Если Вы применяете вышеперечисленные или другие лекарственные препараты
(в том числе безрецептурные), перед применением препарата Мукалтин проконсультируйтесь с врачом.
Pharmacology
Mukaltin contains a mixture of polysaccharides from the herb marshmallow (Althaea officinalis). It has expectorant properties. Due to reflex stimulation, it enhances the activity of ciliated epithelium and the peristalsis of respiratory bronchioles, along with increasing the secretion of bronchial glands.
