Indications

Fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton (e.g., T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucosum, T. violaceum, T. interdigitale, T. tonsurans, T. gypseum), Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton floccosum.
Yeast skin infections, primarily those caused by the genus Candida (e.g., Candida albicans).
Tinea versicolor (Pityriasis versicolor) caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (also known as Malassezia furfur).

How to use

Adults and children aged 12 years and older:
Binafin can be applied to the skin once or twice a day. Before applying the cream, the affected areas should be cleaned and dried. The cream is applied in a thin layer to the affected skin and surrounding areas and gently rubbed in.
In cases of infections accompanied by chafing (under the breasts, in the spaces between the toes, between the buttocks, in the groin area), the application sites can be covered with gauze, especially at night.
Average duration of treatment:
Dermatomycosis of the trunk and lower legs: 1 week once a day.
Dermatomycosis of the feet: 1 week once a day.
Candidiasis of the skin: 1-2 weeks once or twice a day.
Tinea Versicolor: 2 weeks once or twice a day.
A reduction in the severity of clinical manifestations is usually observed within the first few days of treatment. In the case of irregular treatment or premature discontinuation, there is a risk of recurrence of the infection. If there are no signs of improvement after two weeks of treatment, the diagnosis should be verified.
Use of the drug in elderly patients
There is no reason to believe that dosage adjustments are required for elderly patients or that they experience side effects different from those of younger patients.
Use of the drug in children
The use of this drug is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Взрослые и дети с 12 лет и старше:
Бинафин можно наносить на кожу один или два раза в сутки. Перед нанесением крема необходимо очистить и подсушить пораженные участки. Крем накладывают тонким слоем на пораженную кожу и прилегающие участки и слегка втирают.
При инфекциях, сопровождающихся опрелостью (под молочными железами, в межпальцевых промежутках, между ягодицами, в паховой области), места нанесения крема можно прикрывать марлей, особенно на ночь.
Средняя продолжительность лечения:
Дерматомикоз туловища, голеней: 1 неделя 1 раз в день.
Дерматомикоз стоп: 1 неделя 1 раз в день.
Кандидоз кожи: 1-2 недели 1 или 2 раза в день.
Разноцветный лишай: 2 недели 1 или 2 раза в день.
Уменьшение выраженности клинических проявлений обычно отмечается в первые дни лечения. В случае нерегулярного лечения или преждевременного его прекращения существует риск возобновления инфекции. В случае если через две недели лечения не отмечается признаков улучшения, следует провести верификацию диагноза.
Применение препарата у лиц пожилого возраста
Нет оснований предполагать, что для лиц пожилого возраста требуется изменять дозирование препарата или что у них отмечаются побочные действия, отличающиеся от таковых у пациентов более молодого возраста
Применение препарата у детей
Не рекомендуется применение данного препарата у детей до 12 лет.

excipients by mass percentage: ketomacrogol 1000 - 2.0, cetostearyl alcohol - 8.0, white soft paraffin - 12.0, liquid paraffin - 10.0, isopropyl myristate - 5.0, methylparaben - 0.15, propylparaben - 0.0045, sodium acid phosphate - 0.62, purified water - 61.10.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

At the application site, redness, itching, or burning sensation have been noted in rare cases; however, these occurrences rarely necessitated discontinuation of treatment. The aforementioned symptoms should be distinguished from allergic reactions, such as urticaria, which occur infrequently; however, if they do appear, treatment should be discontinued.

No cases of binaphine overdose have been reported. However, if the medication is accidentally ingested, similar side effects to those observed in binaphine tablet overdose can be expected: nausea, loss of appetite, upper abdominal pain, diarrhea.

Currently, drug interactions are unknown.

В месте нанесения препарата в редких случаях отмечалось покраснение, ощущение зуда или жжения, однако эти явления редко приводили к необходимости прекращать лечение. Эти вышеназванные симптомы следует отличать от аллергических реакций, например крапивницы, которые возникают редко, однако при их появлении необходимо прекратить лечение

О случаях передозировки бинафина не сообщалось. Если же случайно препарат будет принят внутрь, можно ожидать развития таких же побочных явлений, как и при передозировке таблеток бинафина: тошнота, нарушение аппетита, боли в верхней половине живота, диарея

Pharmacology

Binafin in the form of a 1% cream is an antifungal agent for local use.
Terbinafine, the active ingredient of Binafin, is an allylamine and has a broad spectrum of antifungal activity.
Binafin exhibits fungicidal action against dermatophytes, mold, and some dimorphic fungi.
Activity against yeast-like fungi may be fungicidal or fungistatic, depending on the species.
Binafin disrupts the biosynthesis of ergosterol in fungi at early stages. This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol and intracellular accumulation of squalene, resulting in fungal cell death. The action of Binafin is mediated by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase located in the fungal cell membrane. This enzyme is not part of the cytochrome P450 system.
Binafin does not affect the metabolism of hormones or other medications.

When applied locally, less than 5% of the dose is absorbed, thus the systemic effect of the drug is minimal.

Binafin 1% cream is an antifungal medication for topical use. Terbinafine, the active ingredient of Binafin, is an allylamine and has a broad spectrum of antifungal activity. Binafin exerts fungicidal action against dermatophytes, mold, and some dimorphic fungi. Its activity against yeast-like fungi may be fungicidal or fungistatic, depending on the species. Binafin does not affect the metabolism of hormones or other medications.
