Indications

The drug Levomekol® is indicated for use in adults and children over 1 year of age for the treatment of infected wounds (including cuts and abrasions) of various locations (including those infected with mixed microflora) in the first phase of the wound process.

How to use

Always use the medication in full accordance with the package insert or the recommendations of your healthcare provider or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
Recommended dosage
Adults and children over 1 year:
Dressings should be performed daily, once a day, until the wound is completely cleared of purulent-necrotic masses. For large wound surfaces, the daily dose of the ointment, calculated based on chloramphenicol, should not exceed 3 g.
Route and/or method of administration
For external use. The preparation is used to saturate sterile gauze pads, which are loosely packed into the wound. It is also possible to introduce it into purulent cavities through a catheter (drainage tube) using a syringe. In this case, the ointment should be preheated to 35-36 °C.
Duration of therapy
The duration of treatment depends on the severity and course of the disease.

Рекомендуемая доза
Взрослые и дети старше 1 года:
Перевязки производят ежедневно, один раз в день, до полного очищения раны от гнойнонекротических масс. При больших раневых поверхностях суточная доза мази в пересчете на хлорамфеникол не должна превышать 3 г.
Путь и (или) способ введения
Наружно. Препаратом пропитывают стерильные марлевые салфетки, которыми рыхло заполняют рану. Возможно введение в гнойные полости через катетер (дренажную трубку) с помощью шприца. В этом случае мазь предварительно подогревают до 35-36 ?С.
Продолжительность терапии
Длительность лечения зависит от тяжести и течения заболевания.

Composition

The active ingredients are dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine and chloramphenicol.
1 g of the preparation contains 40 mg of dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine (methyluracil) and 7.5 mg of chloramphenicol.
Other ingredients (excipients) include: macrogol 1500, macrogol 400.

1 г препарата содержит 40 мг диоксометилтетрагидропиримидина (метилурацила) и 7,5 мг хлорамфеникола.

Contraindications & warnings

Do not use Levomekol®:
- if you are allergic to dioxomethyltetrahydropyrimidine, chloramphenicol, or any other components of the product (listed in section 6 of the package leaflet).

Before using Levomekol®, consult your treating physician or a pharmacy staff member.
If applying to extensive areas of skin and during prolonged treatment courses, the physician will monitor your complete blood count.

Children
Do not use Levomekol® in children aged 0 to 1 year, as efficacy and safety have not been established.

Pharmacology

What is the drug Levomekol® and what is it used for?
Levomekol® contains the active ingredients dioksometiltetrahidropirimidin and chloramphenicol and belongs to the group of combined preparations containing an antibiotic for external use.
It has anti-inflammatory (dehydrating) and antimicrobial effects, and is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms (staphylococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and intestinal bacilli).

Mechanism of action of Levomekol®
It easily penetrates deep into tissues without damaging biological membranes, stimulating regeneration processes. In the presence of pus and necrotic masses, the antibacterial action is maintained.

Что из себя представляет препарат Левомеколь®, и для чего его применяют Левомеколь® содержит действующие вещества диоксометилтетрагидропиримидин и хлорамфеникол и относится к группе комбинированных препаратов, содержащих антибиотик для наружного применения.
