Pharmacology

ALPHA-LIPOIC ACID (ALA) 100MG - A dietary supplement (DS) that is a natural vitamin-like substance with pronounced antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Content per 1 capsule:
Alpha-lipoic acid 100 mg 333**% of the adequate intake level*

Alpha-lipoic acid is absorbed through the lipid layers of the skin and is capable of combating both existing free radicals and inhibiting the formation of new ones on the outer membrane and inside the cell. It participates in the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H, regulates lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, and exhibits immunomodulatory properties through mechanisms that stimulate the production of cyclic AMP - a central regulator of innate immune functions [1].
It contributes to increased activity and alleviation of fatigue, weight control, and muscle mass gain. It slows down aging processes [6], regulates the function of the thyroid gland, heart, and blood vessels [7, 8]; improves metabolism and helps reduce blood sugar levels. Additionally, alpha-lipoic acid has a lipotropic effect, influences cholesterol metabolism, and improves liver function by reducing the damaging effects of endogenous and exogenous toxins on it [9, 10], has a detoxifying effect in cases of poisoning [4, 5], and is capable of binding heavy metal salts and eliminating them from the body. Its direct antioxidant action is achieved by neutralizing active forms of oxygen that are destructive to DNA, proteins, and lipids of cells [2, 3].

Based on the above, it can be concluded that the alpha-lipoic acid included in the composition contributes to enhancing immunity and antioxidant protection of the body, improving metabolism, increasing activity and alleviating fatigue, weight control, elimination of heavy metal salts from the body, protecting liver cells, slowing down aging processes, and reducing blood sugar levels.

Липоевая кислота абсорбируется липидными слоями кожи и способна бороться, как с существующими свободными радикалами, так и тормозить образование новых на внешней мембране и внутри клетки. Принимает участие в преобразовании арахидоновой кислоты в простагландин Н, регуляции липидного и углеводного обмена, а также проявляет иммуномодулирующие свойства благодаря механизмам, которые стимулируют выработку циклического АМФ - центрального регулятора врожденных иммунных функций [1].
Способствует повышению активности и снятию усталости, контролю веса, наращиванию мышечной массы. Замедляет процессы старения [6], регулирует работу щитовидной железы, сердца и сосудов [7, 8]; улучшает метаболизм и способствует снижению сахара в крови. Кроме того, альфа-липоевая кислота оказывает липотропное действие, влияет на обмен холестерина, улучшает функцию печени за счет снижения повреждающего влияния на неё эндогенных и экзогенных токсинов [9, 10], оказывает детоксицирующее действие при отравлениях [4, 5], а также способна связывать соли тяжёлых металлов и выводить их из организма. Прямое антиоксидантное действие достигается за счет обезвреживания активных форм кислорода, деструктивных для ДНК, белков и липидов клеток [2, 3].

Исходя из вышеизложенного можно сделать вывод, что входящая в состав альфа-липоевая кислота способствует повышению иммунитета и антиоксидантной защиты организма, улучшению обмена веществ, способствует повышению активности и снятию усталости, контролю веса, выведению солей тяжелых металлов из организма, защите клеток печени, замедлению процессов старения, снижению уровня сахара в крови.
