How to use
Fitting Axillary Crutches
The selection of axillary crutch designs is based on the patient's height.
This takes into account the distance from the tip of the crutch to the point where the product rests in the armpit, as well as the position of the handle that the hand grips.
How to fit axillary crutches by height:
The patient should stand and wear their usual footwear.
The crutch should be positioned about 20 cm from the leg.
Measure the distance from the armpit to the top of the crutch - with proper fitting, it should be within 5 cm.
With relaxed arms, the crossbar that the palm grips should be approximately at wrist level.
To adjust it correctly, bend the arm at the elbow at a 30° angle, with the palm clenched into a fist.
If the patient still needs support to stand, the crutch can be selected using the following formula: height minus 40 cm.
However, in this case, the product will need to be adjusted.
To determine if the crutches are properly fitted, the patient should try walking with them.
If shoulder pain develops over time while moving, it indicates that the crutches are too high.
If the shoulders are relatively relaxed but there is fatigue in the arms, it means the crutches are too low.

Подбор подмышечных костылей
Подбор конструкций с опорой на подмышку основывается на росте пациента.
При этом учитывается расстояние от его кончика до места, где изделие упирается в подмышку, а также положение ручки, за которую держится кисть.
Как подобрать костыли подмышечные по росту:
Пациент должен принять положение стоя, и быть обут в привычную обувь.
Изделие нужно установить на расстоянии около 20 см от ноги.
Необходимо измерить расстояние от подмышки до верхушки изделия - при правильном подборе костыля оно будет находиться в пределах 5 см.
При расслабленных руках перекладина, за которую держится ладонь должна оказаться примерно на уровне запястья.
Чтобы правильно её отрегулировать, нужно согнуть руку в локте под углом в 30°, ладонь при этом сжимается в кулак.
Если пациент все еще нуждается в опоре для того, чтобы стоять, изделие для него можно подобрать по следующей формуле: рост минус 40 см.
Однако в этом случае изделие понадобится подогнать.
Чтобы понять, правильно ли подобраны конструкции, нужно попробовать походить на них.
Если во время движения со временем начинают болеть плечи, это говорит о том, что они слишком высокие.
Если же плечи относительно расслаблены, но чувствуется усталость в руках, значит, костыли наоборот слишком низкие.
