Indications

Bausch & Lomb SofLens® 59 (hilafilcon B) contact lens is intended for daily wear for the correction of refractive ametropia (myopia and hyperopia) in aphakic and/or non-aphakic patients with non-pathological changes in the eye.
The replacement schedule may vary from patient to patient and is determined during a consultation with an ophthalmologist. The contact lens must be cleaned, rinsed, and disinfected each time it is removed from the patient's eye, and disposed of after the recommended wearing period prescribed by the ophthalmologist. The lens may be disinfected using a chemical disinfection system.

Расписание замены может отличаться от пациента к пациенту и выбирается на консультации у окулиста. Контактная линза должна быть очищена, промыта и дезинфицирована каждый раз, когда ее удаляют из глаза пациента, и утилизована после истечения рекомендованного периода ношения, предписанного офтальмологом. Линза может быть дезинфицирована с использованием химической системы дезинфекции.

How to use

Precautions for Handling Lenses
• Always wash your hands before handling lenses. Avoid getting cosmetics, lotions, soaps, creams, deodorants, or sprays in your eyes or on the lens. It is better to put on lenses before applying makeup. Water-based cosmetics are less likely to damage lenses than oil-based products.
• Ensure that your fingers or hands are free from foreign materials before touching the lenses, as microscopic scratches on the lenses may occur, causing distorted vision and/or eye injury.
• Always handle lenses carefully and try not to drop them.
• Do not touch the lens with your nails.

How to Put on Lenses
There are two methods for putting on lenses. Use the one that is more comfortable for you.
1. Putting on lenses with one hand:
Place the lens on the pad of your right index finger, ensuring that the lens is not inside out. Also, make sure the lens is clean and undamaged.
Pull down the lower eyelid with the middle finger of the same hand. Look up and gently place the lens on the white part of the eye below the pupil. Remove the index finger from the lens. Look down for precise centering of the lens.
Carefully lower the pulled-down lower eyelid. Close your eyes for a short time for better lens fitting. The criterion for normal fitting is improved visual acuity.
Repeat the above steps with the other lens.
2. Putting on lenses with two hands:
Remove the right lens from the case.
With the middle finger of your left hand, pull up the upper eyelid towards the brow.
Place the lens on the pad of your right index finger and pull down the lower eyelid with the middle finger of the same hand. Use your index finger to place the lens on the eye.
Holding the eyelids in that position, look down for precise centering of the lens. Gently release the pulled eyelids.
Repeat the above steps with the second lens.

How to Remove Lenses
Look up and pull down the lower eyelid with the middle finger of the corresponding hand.
Place the pad of your index finger on the lower edge of the lens.
Slide the lens down or to the side.
Gently pinch the lens between your thumb and index finger and remove it from your eye.
Clean the lens and place it in a container with disinfecting and storage solution.
If the lens is stuck together after removal, do not attempt to straighten it by pulling at the edges - this may tear the lens.
Place the lens in the container with the solution, and it will likely straighten out on its own.
If it does not, gently rub it between your thumb and index finger, ensuring it is well moistened with the solution.

Предосторожности при обращении с линзами

Осторожно опустите оттянутое нижнее веко. На короткое время закройте глаза для лучшей посадки линзы. Критерий нормальной посадки - повышение остроты зрения.
Повторите вышеуказанные операции с другой линзой.
2. Надевание линз двумя руками:
Выньте правую линзу из футляра.
Средним пальцем левой руки оттяните верхнее веко к брови.
Положите линзу на подушечку указательного пальца правой руки и оттяните нижнее веко средним пальцем той же руки. Указательным пальцем наложите линзу на глаз.
Задержав веки в указанном положении, опустите глаза вниз для точной центрации линзы. Осторожно отпустите оттянутые веки.
Повторите вышеуказанные операции со второй линзой.

Как снимать линзы
Поднимите глаза вверх и оттяните нижнее веко средним пальцем соответствующей руки.
Наложите подушечку указательного пальца на нижний край линзы.
Сдвиньте линзу вниз или в сторону.
Осторожно зажмите линзу между большим и указательным пальцами и снимите ее с глаза.
Очистите линзу и поместите в контейнер с раствором для дезинфекции и хранения.
Если после снятия линза слиплась, не пытайтесь ее расправить, растянув за края - так Вы можете порвать линзу.
Поместите линзу в контейнер с раствором, и скорее всего она расправится самостоятельно.
Если этого не произошло, аккуратно потрите ее между большим и указательным пальцами, предварительно хорошо увлажнив раствором.

Contraindications & warnings

DO NOT USE Bausch & Lomb SofLens® 59 (hilafilcon B) colored contact lenses when any of the following conditions are present:
• Acute and subacute inflammation or infection of the anterior chamber of the eye;
• Any eye disease, injury, or disorder affecting the cornea, conjunctiva, or eyelids;
• Severe tear secretion deficiency (dry eyes);
• Corneal hypoesthesia (reduced corneal sensitivity);
• Any systemic disease that may affect the eye or may develop as a result of wearing contact lenses;
• Allergic reactions of the ocular surfaces or adnexa (surrounding tissues) that may be caused or exacerbated by wearing contact lenses or using contact lens solutions;
• Any active corneal infection (bacterial, fungal, or viral);
• If the eyes become red or irritated.

Please note that contact lenses are a medical device that comes into contact with the surface of the eye; therefore, recommendations for their selection and care can only be provided by an ophthalmologist or optometrist during a personal consultation, as this is the only way to ensure the safe use of contact lenses.
Also, remember to take proper care and timely replace both optical products and their accessories.
IT IS PROHIBITED to use lenses if the sterile blister packs are opened or damaged.

Warnings
After a complete eye examination by an ophthalmologist, patients must be fully informed by the prescribing professional about all risks associated with wearing contact lenses. Patients should be made aware of the following warnings related to wearing contact lenses:
• Problems with contact lenses and lens care products can result in serious eye injury. It is essential for patients to follow their ophthalmologist's instructions and all labeling instructions for the proper use of lenses and lens care products, including the lens case. Eye problems, including corneal ulcers, can develop rapidly and lead to vision loss.
• Lenses intended for daily wear should not be worn overnight, and patients must be informed to remove lenses during sleep. Clinical studies have shown that continuous wear increases the risk of adverse reactions.
• When lenses are prescribed for frequent wear/scheduled replacement, the patient should be emphasized the necessity of strictly following the lens care regimen, including cleaning the lens case, wear limitations, wearing schedule, and follow-up visit schedule.
• Studies have shown that contact lens wearers who smoke have a higher incidence of adverse reactions than non-smokers.
• The patient should be informed that in case of eye discomfort, increased tearing, changes in vision, or redness of the eye, they must immediately remove the lenses and consult an ophthalmologist.

Wearing Soft Contact Lenses
When you start using contact correction, during the first two to four weeks, your eyes will adjust to the contact lenses. During this time, the eye adapts to the "foreign" body, and tear production changes.
In the first few days, do not wear lenses from morning until evening: gradually increase the wearing time, following your doctor's instructions. Under no circumstances should lenses be worn overnight.
You should immediately consult a doctor if you experience the following symptoms:
Eye pain, redness of the eye, decreased visual acuity.
Burning sensation, itching, discomfort.
Feeling of a foreign body while wearing the lens.
Unusual or increased eye discharge, "cloudiness" of vision, appearance of halos or rings.
Photophobia, dry eye.
If these symptoms occur, remove the lens and examine it for foreign bodies, contamination, or damage. If the lens shows no visible defects, clean it, rinse it, and reinsert it.
If adverse symptoms persist after this, consult a doctor immediately, who will determine the need for further treatment.

Предупреждения
После полного обследования глаза у офтальмолога, пациенты должны быть полностью проинформированы профессионалом, предписывающим линзы, обо всех рисках, связанных с ношением контактных линз. Пациентам нужно сообщить относительно следующих предупреждений, имеющих отношение к ношению контактных линз:

В первые дни не стоит носить линзы с утра до вечера: постепенно увеличивайте время ношения, следуя указаниям врача. Ни в коем случае не следует оставлять линзы на ночь.
Вы должны немедленно обратиться к врачу при следующих симптомах:
Боль в глазу, покраснение глаза, снижение остроты зрения.
Чувство жжения, зуд, дискомфорт.
Ощущение инородного тела при ношении линзы.
Необычные или более обильные выделения из глаз, «затуманенность» зрения, появление радужных кругов или ареолов.
Появление светобоязни, сухость глаза.
При появлении данных симптомов необходимо снять линзу и исследовать ее на наличие инородных тел, загрязнений, повреждений. Если линза не имеет видимых дефектов, очистите ее, промойте и снова наденьте.
Если неблагоприятные симптомы после этого сохраняются, немедленно покажитесь врачу, который определись необходимость дальнейшего лечения.
