How to use
Orally, during meals.
Tablets 8 mg: 1-2 tablets 3 times a day. Tablets 16 mg: 0.5-1 tablet 3 times a day. Improvement is usually noted at the beginning of therapy; a stable therapeutic effect occurs after two weeks of treatment and may increase over several months of treatment. Treatment is prolonged. The duration of the medication should be tailored individually.

Таблетки 8 мг: 1-2 таблетки 3 раза в день. Таблетки 16 мг: 14-1 таблетка 3 раза в день. Улучшение обычно отмечается уже в начале терапии, стабильный терапевтический эффект наступает после двух недель лечения и может нарастать в течение нескольких месяцев лечения. Лечение длительное. Длительность приёма препарата подбирается индивидуально.
Composition
Each tablet contains the active ingredient: betahistine dihydrochloride - 8.0 mg.
Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose - 66.5 mg; corn starch - 10.0 mg; copovidone - 9.0 mg; sodium carboxymethyl starch - 5.0 mg; magnesium stearate - 1.0 mg; colloidal silicon dioxide - 0.5 mg.
Round flat-cylindrical tablets of white or almost white color with a light brown tint, with a bevel and a score line.

Круглые плоскоцилиндрические таблетки белого или почти белого со светло-коричневым оттенком цвета, с фаской и риской.
Contraindications & warnings
Increased sensitivity to any of the components of the drug; pregnancy and lactation period (due to lack of data). Pediatric age. Lactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, and glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome.
With caution:
Peptic ulcer disease of the stomach or duodenum (including history), pheochromocytoma, bronchial asthma. Patients with these conditions should be regularly monitored during treatment.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Insufficient data to assess the impact of the drug during pregnancy and lactation. Therefore, use during pregnancy is not recommended. Breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment.
The therapeutic effect may increase over several months from the start of treatment.
Effect on the ability to drive and operate machinery
Betahistine does not have a sedative effect and does not affect the ability to drive a vehicle or engage in activities requiring quick psychomotor responses.

Повышенная чувствительность к любому из компонентов препарата, беременность и период лактации (в связи с отсутствием данных). Детский возраст. Непереносимость лактозы, дефицит лактазы и синдром глюкозо-гапактозной мальабсорбции.
С осторожностью
Язвенная болезнь желудка или 12-перстной
кишки (в том числе в анамнезе), феохромо-цитома, бронхиальная астма. Указанных больных следует регулярно наблюдать в период лечения.
Беременность и период лактации
Недостаточно данных для оценки воздействия препарата в период беременности и лактации. В связи с этим не рекомендуется прием при беременности. На время лечения необходимо прекратить грудное вскармливание.

Side effects, overdose & interactions
Gastrointestinal side effects: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bloating, dyspepsia.
Skin side effects: angioedema, urticaria, itching, rash. Allergic reactions: hypersensitivity, including anaphylactic reactions.
Symptoms: nausea, abdominal pain, drowsiness (when taken at a dose up to 640 mg); seizures, cardiovascular complications (when taken at a dose greater than 640 mg or in combination with other medications).
Treatment: symptomatic.
Cases of interaction or incompatibility with other medications are unknown.

Pharmacology
Betahistine primarily acts on H1 and H3 histamine receptors in the inner ear and vestibular nuclei of the central nervous system. Through direct agonistic action on H1 receptors of the inner ear blood vessels, as well as indirectly on H3 histamine receptors in the vestibular nuclei of the central nervous system (CNS); it improves microcirculation and capillary permeability, normalizes endolymphatic pressure in the labyrinth and cochlea. At the same time, betahistine increases blood flow in the basilar artery. It accelerates the recovery of vestibular function after unilateral vestibular neurectomy, facilitating central vestibular compensation (due to antagonism with H3 histamine receptors). It has a pronounced central effect, acting as an inhibitor of H3 receptors in the vestibular nerve nuclei. It dose-dependently reduces the generation of action potentials in the neurons of the lateral and medial vestibular nuclei.
It alleviates symptoms in Meniere's syndrome and vestibular vertigo. A stable therapeutic effect occurs after 14 days.
Rapidly absorbed, with low plasma protein binding. Time to reach maximum plasma concentration (Tmax) is 3 hours. Metabolized to inactive metabolites: 2-pyridylacetic acid (the main metabolite) and demethylbetahistine. 85-90% is excreted by the kidneys as 2-pyridylacetic acid within 24 hours. The excretion of betahistine and demethylbetahistine by the kidneys is minimal. Only a small portion of betahistine and its metabolites is excreted by the intestines.

Бетагистин действует главным образом на гистаминовые Н1 и Н3 - рецепторы внутреннего уха и вестибулярных ядер центральной нервной системы. Путём прямого агонистического воздействия на Нгрецепторы сосудов внутреннего уха, а также опосредованно на Н3-гистаминовые рецепторы вестибулярных ядер центральной нервной системы (ЦНС); улучшает микроциркуляцию и проницаемость капилляров, нормализует давление эндолимфы в лабиринте и улитке. Вместе с тем бетагистин увеличивает кровоток в базиллярной артерии. Ускоряет
восстановление вестибулярной функции после односторонней вестибулярной нейрэктомии, ускоряя и облегчая центральную вестибулярную компенсацию (за счет антагонизма с Н3- гистаминовыми рецепторами). Обладает выраженным центральным эффектом, являясь ингибитором Н3-рецепторов ядер вестибулярного нерва. Дозозависимо снижает генерацию потенциалов действия в нейронах латеральных и медиальных вестибулярных ядер.
Облегчает симптоматику при синдроме Меньера и вестибулярном головокружении. Стабильный терапевтический эффект наступает через 14 дней.
Абсорбируется быстро, связь с белками плазмы - низкая. Время достижения максимальной концентрации в плазме (ТСтах) 3 часа. Метаболизируется до неактивных метаболитов:
2-пиридилуксусной кислоты (основной метаболит) и деметилбетагистина. 85-90% выводится почками в виде 2-пиридилуксусной кислоты в течение 24 часов. Выведение бетагистина и деметилбетагистина почками незначительно. Кишечником выводится лишь небольшая часть бетагистина и его метаболитов.
