For external use.
Apply to the affected or treated areas of the skin.

Active ingredient: iodine - 5.00 g;
excipients: potassium iodide, ethanol (ethyl alcohol) (calculated as anhydrous ethanol), purified water

Transparent liquid of reddish-brown color with a characteristic odor.

Hypersensitivity, thyrotoxicosis, herpetiform dermatitis.

Light and ambient body temperature above 40 °C accelerate the decomposition of active iodine. The preparation should have a dark brown color. Discoloration of the solution indicates the breakdown of the complex with the transition of active iodine to iodide ion and a decrease in the effectiveness of the preparation.
Alkaline or acidic environments, the presence of fat, pus, or blood weaken antiseptic activity.
Avoid contact with eyes.

Skin irritation, allergic reactions (skin itching); with prolonged use on extensive wound surfaces - iodism (rhinitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema, increased salivation, tearing, acne rash)

Symptoms: in case of overdose, symptoms of iodism, skin irritation, and burns may occur.
Treatment: symptomatic; rinse excess medication with clean running water.

Pharmaceutically incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solutions, enzymes, reducing agents and alkalis, disinfectant medications containing mercury; forms an explosive mixture with white precipitate mercury (mercury amidochloride).

Antiseptic agent. The main active ingredient is molecular iodine, which possesses antiseptic properties. When applied to extensive skin surfaces, iodine exerts a resorptive effect: it participates in the synthesis of thyroxine and triiodothyronine. Ethanol slows the elimination of iodine and reduces its irritating effect on tissues.

It has a bactericidal effect on both gram-positive and gram-negative flora (most actively against Streptococcus spp. and Escherichia coli), as well as on pathogenic fungi and yeasts. Most strains of Staphylococcus spp. are resistant; however, with prolonged use of the product, suppression of staphylococcal flora is observed in 80% of cases. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is resistant.

Upon contact with the skin, 30% is converted into iodides, while the remaining portion is converted into active iodine. It is partially absorbed. The absorbed portion penetrates tissues and organs, being selectively taken up by the thyroid gland. It is excreted primarily by the kidneys, as well as by the intestines, sweat glands, and in breast milk during lactation.
