Indications

Acute and chronic respiratory tract diseases accompanied by the formation of difficult-to-expectorate, viscous sputum (tracheobronchitis, obstructive bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, etc.) – as part of combination therapy.

How to use

Take 1–2 tablets orally 2–3 times a day before meals. The average treatment course is 7–14 days. For children, the tablet can be dissolved in 1/3 cup of warm water.
If there is no improvement after treatment, or if symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, consult a doctor. Use the medication only according to the indications, method of use, and dosages specified in the instructions for use.

Внутрь по 1–2 таблетке 2–3 раза в день перед едой. Курс лечения в среднем 7–14 дней. Детям можно растворить таблетку в 1/3 стакана теплой воды.
Если после лечения улучшения не наступает или симптомы усугубляются, или появляются новые симптомы, необходимо проконсультироваться с врачом. Применяйте препарат только согласно тем показаниям, тому способу применения и в тех дозах, которые указаны в инструкции по применению.

Active ingredient: Althaea officinalis herb extract (mucaltin dry extract) – 50 mg; excipients: tartaric acid, sodium bicarbonate (modified with sodium carbonate) (brand Effer-Soda® 12), microcrystalline cellulose (type 102), calcium stearate.

Tablets from light gray with a brownish tint to light brown color with dark and light speckles, flat-cylindrical shape, with a facet.

Действующее вещество: Алтея лекарственного травы экстракт (мукалтин экстракт сухой) – 50 мг; вспомогательные вещества: винная кислота, натрия гидрокарбонат (модифицированный натрия карбонатом) (марка Effer-Soda® 12), целлюлоза микрокристаллическая (тип 102), кальция стеарат.

Таблетки от светло-серого с коричневым оттенком до светло-коричневого цвета с темными и светлыми вкраплениями, плоскоцилиндрической формы, с фаской.

Contraindications & warnings

Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug; peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum. Age under 12 years.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

Allergic reactions; rarely – dyspeptic phenomena.

To date, no cases of overdose have been reported with the use of the medication.

Mukaltin-Akrikhin can be prescribed simultaneously with other medications used in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases.
Mukaltin-Akrikhin should not be used concurrently with medications containing codeine and other antitussive drugs, as this complicates the expectoration of liquefied sputum.
If you are using the aforementioned or other medications (including over-the-counter), consult your doctor before using Mukaltin-Akrikhin.

Мукалтин-Акрихин можно назначать одновременно с другими препаратами, применяемыми при лечении бронхолегочных заболеваний.
Мукалтин-Акрихин не следует применять одновременно с препаратами, содержащими кодеин и другие противокашлевые лекарственные средства, так как это затрудняет откашливание разжиженной мокроты.
Если Вы применяете вышеперечисленные или другие лекарственные препараты (в том числе безрецептурные), перед применением препарата Мукалтин-Акрихин проконсультируйтесь с врачом.

Pharmacology

The preparation is a mixture of polysaccharides from the herb marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) and has expectorant properties. Due to reflex stimulation, it enhances the activity of ciliated epithelium and the peristalsis of respiratory bronchioles, along with increasing the secretion of bronchial glands.
