How to use

Route of administration - for vaginal use
Suppositories, removed from the blister pack, are to be inserted into the vagina while lying down, as deeply as possible, once daily at night.

Dosage
For candidal vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis: intravaginally one suppository for 3-6 days.
The duration of treatment is determined individually. After the symptoms of the disease have disappeared, it is recommended to continue treatment for a few more days. During menstruation, the use of suppositories is interrupted.
In cases of persistent vaginitis caused by Candida albicans, natamycin in tablet form is additionally prescribed: 1 tablet 4 times a day for 10-20 days to sanitize the focus of candidal infection in the intestine.

Способ введения - для вагинального применения
Суппозитории, предварительно освободив от контурной упаковки, вводят во влагалище, находясь в положении лежа, как можно глубже 1 раз в сутки на ночь.

Дозирование
При кандидозных вагинитах, вульвитах, вульвовагинитах: интравагинально по одному суппозиторию в течение 3-6 дней.
Продолжительность курса лечения устанавливают индивидуально. После исчезновения симптомов заболевания рекомендуется продолжать лечение еще несколько дней. Во время менструации применение суппозиториев прерывают.
При упорном течении вагинитов, вызванных Candida albicans, дополнительно назначают натамицин в виде таблеток для приема внутрь: по 1 таблетке 4 раза в день в течение 10-20 дней для санации очага кандидозной инфекции в кишечнике.

Composition

Composition per suppository:
Active ingredient: natamycin (calculated as 100% substance) - 100.0 mg;
Excipients: glycerol hydroxystearate macrogol - 75.0 mg, colloidal silicon dioxide - 20.0 mg, solid fat (Suppocire AM) to obtain a suppository mass of 1500.0 mg.

Suppositories in a torpedo shape, ranging from light yellow to light brown in color. There should be no foreign inclusions in the longitudinal section. The presence of an air core or funnel-shaped indentation is permissible.

Действующее вещество: натамицин (в пересчете на 100 % вещество) - 100,0 мг;
Вспомогательные вещества: макрогола глицерилгидроксистеарат - 75,0 мг, кремния диоксид коллоидный - 20,0 мг, жир твердый (Суппоцир АМ) до получения суппозитория массой 1500,0 мг.

Суппозитории торпедовидной формы от светло-желтого до светло-коричневого цвета. На продольном разрезе должны отсутствовать посторонние включения. Допускается наличие воздушного стержня или воронкообразного углубления.

The use of the drug is possible in pregnant women and during lactation.

Special Instructions
When applied vaginally, under the influence of body temperature, the suppositories turn into a foamy mass, which helps to evenly distribute natamycin over the vaginal mucosa.
During treatment, there is no need to avoid sexual contact; however, it is recommended to examine sexual partners and, if candidiasis is detected, to undergo a course of treatment with natamycin. Barrier methods of contraception should be used during treatment.

Effect on the Ability to Drive Vehicles and Operate Machinery
The use of Natamycin does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

Mild irritation and a burning sensation at the site of application may occur with local use.

Currently, there have been no reported cases of overdose with the medication.

No drug interactions of Natamycin with other medications have been described.

Pharmacology

Mechanism of Action
Natamycin is an antifungal polyene antibiotic from the macrolide group, with a broad spectrum of activity. It exerts fungicidal action. It binds to sterols in cell membranes, disrupting their integrity and functions, leading to the death of microorganisms.
It is active against most pathogenic yeast-like fungi (especially Candida albicans), yeasts (Torulopsis and Rhodotorula), as well as other pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus, Penicillium). It is less active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporum, Epidermophyton).
Sensitivity in vitro
It does not affect in vitro gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Resistance
Resistance to natamycin is not encountered in clinical practice.

Natamycin does not have a systemic effect, as it is practically not absorbed through intact skin and intact mucous membranes.

Натамицин - противогрибковый полиеновый антибиотик из группы макролидов, имеющий широкий спектр действия. Оказывает фунгицидное действие. Связывается со стеролами клеточных мембран, нарушая их целостность и функции, что приводит к гибели микроорганизмов.
