How to use

Vaginally. The suppository, previously removed from the blister pack using scissors (by cutting the packaging along the contour of the suppository), is inserted into the vagina (after hygiene procedures) 1 suppository 2 times a day (morning and evening). The treatment course is 10-14 days.

Вагинально. Суппозиторий, предварительно освобожденный от контурной ячейковой упаковки при помощи ножниц (разрезав упаковку по контуру суппозитория), вводят во влагалище (после гигиенических процедур) по 1 суппозиторию 2 раза в сутки (утром и вечером). Курс лечения 10-14 дней.

Contraindications & warnings

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; pregnancy; age under 18 years (there is no data on the efficacy and safety of nystatin in the intravaginal dosage form for use in children).

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy. Use during breastfeeding is possible, as the drug is practically not absorbed through the mucous membranes, therefore it does not enter breast milk.

During menstruation, treatment should not be interrupted.
In cases of vaginal fungal infections, simultaneous treatment of the sexual partner is recommended. During the treatment period, it is advisable to avoid sexual contact.

Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery
During treatment with the drug, it is possible to drive vehicles and engage in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and quick psychomotor responses.

Повышенная чувствительность к компонентам препарата, беременность, детский возраст до 18 лет (отсутствуют данные об эффективности и безопасности применения нистатина в лекарственной форме для интравагинального применения у детей).

Применение при беременности и в период грудного вскармливания
Препарат противопоказан при беременности. Применение в период грудного вскармливания возможно, так как препарат практически не всасывается через слизистые оболочки, поэтому в грудное молоко не проникает.

Во время менструации лечение прерывать не следует.
При грибковых заболеваниях влагалища рекомендуется одновременное лечение полового партнера. В период лечения рекомендуется избегать половых контактов.

Влияние на способность управлять транспортными средствами, механизмами
В период лечения препаратом возможно управление автотранспортом и занятие другими потенциально опасными видами деятельности, требующими повышенной концентрации внимания и быстроты психомоторных реакций.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

Local reactions of increased sensitivity may occur.
There is a risk of spreading resistant forms of fungi, which necessitates discontinuation of the medication.

When nystatin is used simultaneously with clotrimazole, the activity of the latter is reduced.

Pharmacology

Polyene antifungal antibiotic, highly active against yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida. The structure of the antibiotic contains double bonds that have a high affinity for the sterol structures of fungal cell membranes, which facilitates the incorporation of the drug molecule into the cell membrane and the formation of numerous channels through which uncontrolled transport of electrolytes occurs; the increase in osmolarity within the cell leads to its death. Resistance develops very slowly.

When applied locally, it is practically not absorbed through the mucous membranes.

Полиеновый противогрибковый антибиотик, высокоактивный в отношении дрожжеподобных грибов рода Candida. В структуре антибиотика имеются двойные связи, обладающие высокой тропностью к стероловым структурам клеточной мембраны грибов, что способствует встраиванию молекулы препарата в мембрану клетки и образованию большого количества каналов, через которые осуществляется бесконтрольный транспорт электролитов; повышение осмолярности внутри клетки приводит к ее гибели. Резистентность развивается очень медленно.

При местном применении практически не всасывается через слизистые оболочки.
