Indications

• intestinal candidiasis;

• acute pseudomembranous and acute atrophic candidiasis in patients with cachexia, immunosuppression after antibiotic, corticosteroid, or cytostatic therapy;

• sanitation of the intestinal reservoir of Candida fungi in cases of skin and mucosal candidiasis, including candidal vaginitis, vulvitis, and vulvovaginitis.
Pregnancy and lactation
The use of Pimafucin® during pregnancy and lactation is possible.

How to use

Orally. Food intake does not affect the effectiveness of the medication.
In cases of intestinal candidiasis, adults are recommended to take 1 tablet 4 times a day, children - 1 tablet 2 times a day. The average duration of treatment is 1 week.
In cases of persistent vaginitis caused by Candida species, in conjunction with local antifungal medications (e.g., Pimafucin® suppositories) for the sanitation of the candidiasis infection site in the intestine, Pimafucin® tablets are used (orally, 1 tablet 4 times a day for 10-20 days).
The duration of treatment is determined individually. After the symptoms of the disease have disappeared, it is recommended to continue treatment for several more days.

Внутрь. Прием пищи не оказывает влияния на эффективность препарата.
При кандидозе кишечника взрослым рекомендуется принимать 1 таблетку 4 раза в сутки, детям -1 таблетку 2 раза в сутки. Средняя продолжительность курса лечения -1 неделя.
При упорном течении вагинитов, вызванных грибами рода Candida, совместно с местными противогрибковыми препаратами (например, суппозиториями Пимафуцин®) для санации очага кандидозной инфекции в кишечнике применяют таблетки Пимафуцин®
(внутрь по 1 таблетке 4 раза в сутки в течение 10-20 дней).
Продолжительность курса лечения устанавливают индивидуально. После исчезновения симптомов заболевания рекомендуется продолжать лечение еще несколько- дней.

Composition

1 tablet contains: Active ingredient: natamycin (calculated as 100% substance) 100.0 mg;
excipients: potato starch 85.0 mg, povidone K30 5.00 mg, magnesium stearate 2.50 mg, lactose monohydrate 66 mg**;
enteric coating: cellulose acetate phthalate*** 18.0 mg, triacetin 2.70 mg;
coating: sucrose 122 mg, calcium carbonate 30.0 mg, talc 21.7 mg, kaolin (heavy) 14.2 mg, acacia gum (gum arabic) 7.3 mg, gelatin 3.4 mg, titanium dioxide 0.07 mg;
polishing: Opaglos 6000 0.90 mg (carnauba wax yellow - 5.0%, white beeswax - 5.0%, shellac - 9.91%, anhydrous ethanol**** - 80.09%).

• The specified amounts of excipients are based on theoretical calculations.
** Depending on the actual amount of natamycin, the content of lactose monohydrate is adjusted. The sum of natamycin and lactose monohydrate is 177.5 mg.
*** The same as cellulose acetate phthalate. **** Absent in the final product.

Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.

Precautions for Use
Patients with rare congenital galactose or fructose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrose-isomaltase deficiency should be aware that the product contains lactose monohydrate (66 mg) and sucrose (122 mg).
If you have any of the listed conditions, consult your doctor before taking Pimafucin®. Pimafucin® in this dosage form is not recommended for use in infants due to the potential difficulty in swallowing tablets.

Effects on the Ability to Drive and Operate Machinery
Pimafucin® does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.

Пациентам с редкой врожденной непереносимостью галактозы, фруктозы, дефицитом лактазы Лаппа, глюкозо-галактозной мальабсорбцией или сахаразно-изомальтазной недостаточностью необходимо принимать во внимание, что препарат содержит лактозы моногидрат (66 мг) и сахарозу (122 мг).
Если у Вас одно из перечисленных заболеваний, перед приемом препарата Пимафуцин® обязательно проконсультируйтесь с врачом. Пимафуцин® в данной лекарственной форме не рекомендуется для применения у детей грудного возраста ввиду возможного затруднения при проглатывании таблеток.

Влияние на способность управлять транспортными средствами и механизмами
Пимафуцин® не влияет на способность управлять транспортными средствами и механизмами.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

Gastrointestinal side effects: nausea and diarrhea may occur in the first few days of taking the tablets and typically resolve on their own during treatment. If any of the side effects listed in the instructions worsen, or if you notice any other side effects not mentioned in the instructions, inform your doctor.

No cases of overdose with the drug Pimafucin® have been reported.

No interactions of Pimafucin with other medications have been detected.

Со стороны пищеварительной системы: возможны тошнота и диарея, возникающие в первые дни приема таблеток и проходящие самостоятельно в ходе лечения. Pharmacology

Antifungal polyene (tetrane) antibiotic of the macrolide group. It exerts a predominantly fungicidal effect. Natamycin irreversibly binds to ergosterol in the cell membrane of the fungus, leading to disruption of its integrity, loss of cytoplasmic contents, and cell death.
Most pathogenic yeast and mold fungi, including the genera Candida, Aspergillus, Cephalosporium, Fusarium, and Penicillium, are sensitive to natamycin. Dermatophytes and R. boydii are less sensitive to natamycin. No cases of resistance to natamycin have been reported in clinical practice. Natamycin in the form of enteric-coated tablets acts only in the intestinal lumen.

Natamycin is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and does not have a systemic effect.

Противогрибковый полиеновый (тетраеновый) антибиотик группы макролидов. Оказывает преимущественно фунгицидный эффект. Натамицин необратимо связывается с эргостерином клеточной мембраны клетки гриба, что ведет к нарушению ее целостности, потере содержимого цитоплазмы и гибели клетки.
К натамицину чувствительны большинство патогенных дрожжевых и плесневых грибов, включая роды Candida, Aspergillus, Cephalosporium, Fusarium и Penicillium. Менее чувствительны к натамицину дерматофиты и Р. boydii. Случаев резистентности к натамицину в клинической практике не отмечено. Натамицин в лекарственной форме таблетки кишечнорастворимые действует только в просвете кишечника.

Натамицин не всасывается из желудочно-кишечного тракта и не оказывает системного действия.
