Studies have shown that Selenium-active at a dose of 4 tablets per day (200 mcg of selenium) has a beneficial effect on differential indicators of lipid peroxidation, such as malondialdehyde. Already after two weeks of taking Selenium-active, the activity of Se-containing glutathione peroxidase in plasma increases by 15-20%, the activity of erythrocyte glutathione peroxidase increases by 25-30%, and the activity of erythrocyte superoxide dismutase shows a tendency to increase.

The organic selenium compound in the Selenium-Active preparation does not cause any side effects even at concentrations significantly exceeding the maximum allowable levels for selenium. In cases of individual hypersensitivity, allergic reactions may occur.

"Selenium-Active®" was developed by specialists from the Medical Radiological Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (Obninsk).
