Thyme Herb 50 g

Thyme herb infusion is used internally as an expectorant for inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract - laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia; locally - for gargling in inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx.

About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of thyme herb is placed in an enamel container, poured with 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid, and infused in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, strained, and the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the resulting infusion is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.
The infusion is taken orally at a dose of 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day before meals.
For rinsing the oral cavity and throat, use ½ - 1 cup 3-4 times a day in warm form.
It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.

Thyme herb contains essential oil, tannins, bitter compounds, gum, triterpenoids (ursolic and oleanolic acids), flavonoids, macro- and microelements, and others.

Crushed Herb
Description
Crushed raw material. A mixture of pieces of thin stems, leaves, and flowers. Stem pieces are four-sided, thin, greenish or yellowish-brown in color, sometimes with a purple tint. Leaves are green or grayish-green, whole and in pieces of various shapes. Flowers are small, often crushed, bluish-purple in color with a two-lipped reddish-brown calyx.
The aroma is fragrant. The taste of the aqueous extract is bitter-spicy.

Increased sensitivity to the drug, liver and kidney diseases, gastritis with increased acidity, peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum, pregnancy and lactation.

Allergic reactions may occur; in case of overdose - nausea.

The infusion of thyme herb has expectorant and antimicrobial effects.

The prepared infusion should be stored in a cool place for no more than 2 days.
