Contraindications & warnings
Water for injection is not used as a solvent for medicinal products if another solvent is specified as mandatory for some of them.
Injection water cannot be directly administered intravenously due to low osmotic pressure (risk of hemolysis!). Oil solutions for injection should not be mixed with injection water. Medicinal products, the concentration of which must be within certain limits, should only be diluted with injection water within the specified limits. Special monitoring of the volume of solutions prepared using injection water is required for newborns and young children, as even small volumes can lead to disturbances in water-electrolyte balance. If there is a breach of integrity or cloudiness of the contents, the preparation should not be used.
Freezing during transportation is permitted.

Вода для инъекций в качестве растворителя лекарственных средств не применяется, если в качестве обязательного для некоторых из них указан другой растворитель.
Вода для инъекций не может быть прямо введена внутрисосудисто из-за низкого осмотического давления (риск гемолиза!). Нельзя смешивать с водой для инъекций масляные растворы для инъекций. Лекарственные средства, концентрация которых должна быть в определенных границах, разбавляют водой для инъекций только в указанных пределах. Особый контроль за количеством вводимых растворов, приготовленных с использованием воды для инъекций, требуется у новорожденных и маленьких детей, у которых даже при введении небольших объемов возможны нарушения водно-электролитного баланса. При нарушении герметичности, помутнении содержимого, препарат не следует использовать.
Допускается замораживание при транспортировании.
Side effects, overdose & interactions
Side effects are determined by the adverse effects of the medicinal product, for which a solvent was used for dissolution or dilution.
After the administration of large volumes of hypotonic solutions, in which water for injection was used as a solvent/diluent, hemolysis may develop. Signs and symptoms of overdose will also be related to the properties of the dissolved/diluted medicinal product. In the case of accidental overdose, treatment should be discontinued, and the patient should be examined for the presence of relevant signs and symptoms associated with the administration of the dissolved/diluted medicinal product. Patient monitoring should continue until symptoms resolve.
When mixed with other medicinal products (infusion solutions, concentrates for preparing infusion solutions, injectable solutions, powders, dry substances for preparing injectable solutions), visual compatibility checks are necessary (chemical or pharmaceutical incompatibility may occur).

Побочное действие определяется побочными эффектами лекарственного препарата, для растворения или разведения которого был использован растворитель.
После введения больших объемов гипотонических растворов, в которых в качестве растворителя/разбавителя использовалась вода для инъекций, может развиться гемолиз. Признаки и симптомы передозировки также будут связаны со свойствами растворенного/разбавленного лекарственного препарата. При случайной передозировке лечение должно быть прекращено, а пациент должен быть обследован на предмет выявления соответствующих признаков и симптомов, связанных с введением растворенного/разбавленного лекарственного препарата. Наблюдение за пациентом следует проводить до разрешения симптомов.
При смешивании с другими лекарственными средствами (инфузионные растворы, концентраты для приготовления инфузионных растворов, инъекционные растворы, порошки, сухие вещества для приготовления инъекционных растворов) необходим визуальный контроль на совместимость (может иметь место химическая или фармацевтическая несовместимость).

Injection water has no pharmacological activity. It is used as a solvent and serves to prepare infusion and injection solutions, providing optimal conditions for the compatibility and effectiveness of substrates and water.
When administering alternating water and electrolytes, homeostasis is maintained by the kidneys.
