How to use

Vaginally. The suppository, previously removed from the blister pack using scissors (by cutting the packaging along the contour of the suppository), is inserted into the vagina (after hygiene procedures) at a dosage of 1 suppository 2 times a day (morning and evening). The treatment course is 10 - 14 days.

Вагинально. Суппозиторий, предварительно освобожденный от контурной ячейковой упаковки при помощи ножниц (разрезав упаковку по контуру суппозитория), вводят во влагалище (после гигиенических процедур) по 1 суппозиторию 2 раза в сутки (утром и вечером). Курс лечения 10 - 14 дней.

Citric acid monohydrate 0.075 mg
Solid fat 2342.425 mg
Note: The amount of nystatin is specified for the preparation with an activity of 4500 IU/mg based on the dry substance. In the case of using nystatin with higher activity, the amount is accordingly reduced, increasing the amount of the base.

Yellow suppositories, torpedo-shaped, with a maximum diameter of 1.5 cm.

Contraindications & warnings

Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug; pregnancy; children under 18 years of age (there is no data on the efficacy and safety of nystatin in the intravaginal dosage form for use in children).

During menstruation, treatment should not be interrupted.
In cases of vaginal fungal infections, simultaneous treatment of the sexual partner is recommended. During the treatment period, it is advisable to avoid sexual intercourse.

Повышенная чувствительность к компонентам препарата, беременность, детский возраст до 18 лет (отсутствуют данные об эффективности и безопасности применения нистатина в лекарственной форме для интравагинального применения у детей).

Во время менструации лечение прерывать не следует.
При грибковых заболеваниях влагалища рекомендуется одновременное лечение полового партнера. В период лечения рекомендуется избегать половых контактов.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

Local reactions of increased sensitivity may occur.
There is a risk of spreading resistant forms of fungi, which necessitates discontinuation of the medication.

The simultaneous use of nystatin with clotrimazole reduces the activity of the latter.

Pharmacology

Polyene antifungal antibiotic, highly active against yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida. The structure of the antibiotic contains double bonds that have a high affinity for the sterol structures of fungal cell membranes, which facilitates the incorporation of the drug molecule into the cell membrane and the formation of numerous channels through which uncontrolled transport of electrolytes occurs; the increase in osmolarity within the cell leads to its death. Resistance develops very slowly.

When applied locally, it is practically not absorbed through the mucous membranes.

Полиеновый противогрибковый антибиотик, высокоактивный в отношении дрожжеподобных
грибов рода Candida. В структуре антибиотика имеются двойные связи, обладающие высокой тропностью к стероловым структурам клеточной мембраны грибов, что способствует встраиванию молекулы препарата в мембрану клетки и образованию большого количества каналов, через которые осуществляется бесконтрольный транспорт электролитов; повышение осмолярности внутри клетки приводит к ее гибели. Резистентность развивается очень медленно.

При местном применении практически не всасывается через слизистые оболочки.
