How to use

The suppository, previously removed from the blister packaging using scissors (cutting the packaging along the contour of the suppository), is inserted deeply into the rectum.
Adults: 1 suppository 2 times a day (morning and evening).
Treatment course: 10-14 days. The duration of treatment and the need for repeated courses are determined by the physician.
For the prevention of fungal infections of the rectum in the pre- and post-operative periods during surgical interventions, the treatment course is 7 days.

Суппозиторий, предварительно освобожденный от контурной ячейковой упаковки при помощи ножниц (разрезав упаковку по контуру суппозитория), вводят глубоко в прямую кишку.
Взрослым по 1 суппозиторию 2 раза в сутки (утром и вечером).
Курс лечения 10-14 дней. Длительность лечения и необходимость повторных курсов определяет врач.
При профилактике грибковых поражений прямой кишки в до- и послеоперационный периоды при хирургических вмешательствах курс лечения - 7 дней.

Note. The amount of nystatin is indicated for the preparation with an activity of 4500 IU/mg based on the dry substance. In the case of using nystatin with higher activity, the amount is accordingly reduced, increasing the amount of the base.

Yellow suppositories, torpedo-shaped, with a maximum diameter of 1.2 cm.

Contraindications & warnings

Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug; age under 18 years (there is no data on the efficacy and safety of nystatin in rectal dosage form in children).
Pregnancy and lactation:
Use is possible if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and child. The drug is practically not absorbed through the rectal mucosa, therefore it does not enter breast milk. In case of side effects, it is necessary to consult a doctor.

Effect on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery:
During treatment with the medication, it is possible to drive motor vehicles and engage in other potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and quick psychomotor reactions.

Повышенная чувствительность к компонентам препарата, детский возраст до 18 лет (отсутствуют данные об эффективности и безопасности применения нистатина в ректальной лекарственной форме у детей).
Беременность и лактация:
Применение возможно, если потенциальная польза для матери превосходит потенциальный риск для плода и ребенка. Препарат практически не всасывается через слизистую прямой кишки, поэтому в грудное молоко не проникает. В случае возникновения побочных эффектов необходимо обратиться за консультацией к врачу.

Влияние на способность управлять транспортными средствами и механизмами:
В период лечения препаратом возможно управление автотранспортом и занятие другими потенциально опасными видами деятельности, требующими повышенной концентрации внимания и быстроты психомоторных реакций.

Side effects, overdose & interactions

Diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, chills, allergic reactions.
There is a risk of spreading resistant forms of fungi, which requires discontinuation of the medication.

The simultaneous use of nystatin with clotrimazole reduces the activity of the latter.

Возможен риск распространения резистентных форм грибов, что требует отмены препарата.

При одновременном применении нистатина с клотримазолом активность последнего снижается.

Pharmacology

Antifungal agent, an antibiotic from the polyene group. By binding to sterols in the cell membrane of fungi, it disrupts its permeability, leading to the leakage of essential cell components. Active against Candida albicans.

Has a weak systemic effect. When applied locally through mucous membranes, it is not absorbed. Excreted through the intestines. Does not accumulate.

Противогрибковое средство, антибиотик из группы полиенов. Связываясь со стеролами в клеточной мембране грибов, нарушает её проницаемость, что приводит к выходу основных компонентов клетки. Активен в отношении Candida albicans.

Обладает слабым резорбтивным действием. При местном применении через слизистые оболочки не всасывается. Выводится через кишечник. Не кумулирует.
