Indications
Acute and chronic respiratory tract diseases accompanied by cough with difficult-to-expectorate, viscous sputum (including tracheobronchitis, obstructive bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pneumonia) - as part of combination therapy.

How to use
For adults and children over 12 years old: 1-2 tablets before meals 3-4 times a day.
The average treatment course is 7-14 days.
For children, the tablet can be dissolved in 1/3 cup of warm water.

Composition per tablet
Active ingredient:
Althaea officinalis herb extract (Mucaltin) dry extract with a total polysaccharide content calculated as glucose 18% - 0.05 g
Excipients:
sodium bicarbonate - 0.087 g; tartaric acid - 0.16 g; calcium stearate - 0.003 g.
Tablets from light gray to brownish-gray in color with speckles or marbling, with a specific odor, round, flat-cylindrical in shape with a bevel and score line. Surface color uniformity of the tablets may vary.

Алтея лекарственного травы экстракт (Мукалтин) экстракт сухой с содержанием суммы полисахаридов в пересчете на глюкозу 18 % - 0,05 г
Вспомогательные вещества:
натрия гидрокарбонат - 0,087 г, винная кислота - 0,16 г, кальция стеарат - 0,003 г.
Таблетки от светло-серого до коричнево-серого цвета с вкраплениями или мраморностью, со специфическим запахом, круглые плоскоцилиндрической формы с фаской и риской. Допускается неоднородность окрашивания поверхности таблеток.
Contraindications & warnings
Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug; peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum.
Children under 12 years of age.

Side effects, overdose & interactions
Allergic reactions; rarely - dyspeptic phenomena.

Treatment: Symptomatic treatment.
Mukaltin can be prescribed simultaneously with other medications used in the treatment of bronchopulmonary diseases.
Mukaltin should not be used concurrently with medications containing codeine, as this complicates the expectoration of liquefied mucus.

Pharmacology
Mukaltin is a mixture of polysaccharides derived from the herb marshmallow (Althaea officinalis) and has expectorant properties. Due to reflex stimulation, it enhances the activity of ciliated epithelium and the peristalsis of respiratory bronchioles, along with increasing the secretion of bronchial glands.
