Treatment and prevention of gastrointestinal diseases caused by dysentery bacteria, salmonella, Escherichia coli, Proteus, enterococci, staphylococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, or their combination:

• bacterial dysentery;

• salmonellosis;

• dyspepsia;

• dysbiosis;

• enterocolitis, colitis.
An important condition for effective phage therapy is the preliminary determination of the phage sensitivity of the pathogen.

Method of application and doses

The drug is intended for oral intake and rectal administration. For treatment, the drug is taken orally 4 times a day for 0.5 - 1 hour before meals from the first day of the illness for 7-10 days.
For infants in the first months of life, in the first two days of taking the drug, it is diluted with boiled water in a 1:2 ratio; if there are no side effects (regurgitation, skin rashes), the bacteriophage can be used undiluted thereafter. The drug is taken orally 3 times a day 30 minutes before feeding. In cases of uncontrollable vomiting, the drug is administered as high enemas (through a gas outlet tube or catheter) daily. A combination of rectal (in the form of high enemas) and oral administration of the drug is possible. The treatment course is 7 - 10 days.

In the absence of colitic syndrome, it is recommended to replace one oral dose with a single rectal administration of the age-specific dose of the drug in the form of an enema after bowel evacuation.
For preventive purposes, the optimal usage scheme is daily intake of the age-specific single dose. The duration of the drug intake is determined by the epidemiological situation.
If there is no improvement after treatment, or if symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, it is necessary to consult a doctor. Use the drug only according to the indications, method of application, and in the doses specified in the instructions.

Active substance.
Sterile purified filtrates of phagolysates of S. flexneri serotypes 1, 2, 3, 4 (with activity according to Appelman - not less than 10-6), S. sonnei, S. typhimurium (with activity according to Appelman - not less than 10-5), S. flexneri serotype 6, other serotypes of Salmonella,
E. coli, Proteus, Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, P. aeruginosa (with activity according to Appelman - not less than 10-4) - up to 1 ml.
Excipients.
Preservative - 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate or 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate monohydrate calculated as 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate - 0.0001 g/ml (calculated content).

Description of the dosage form

Transparent liquid of yellow color of varying intensity, a greenish tint is allowed.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The use of the drug is advisable in the presence of infections caused by phage-sensitive strains of bacteria (as recommended by a doctor).

An important condition for effective phage therapy is the preliminary determination of the pathogen's sensitivity to the bacteriophage and the early use of the drug. The drug in bottles with compromised integrity or labeling, past the expiration date, or with turbidity is unsuitable for use. Due to the presence of a nutrient medium in the preparation, in which bacteria from the environment can grow, causing turbidity of the preparation, the following rules must be observed when opening the bottle:

• wash hands thoroughly;

• treat the cap with an alcohol-containing solution;

• remove the cap without opening the stopper;

• do not place the stopper with the inner surface on the table or other objects;

• do not leave the bottle open;

• store the opened bottle only in the refrigerator. Before use, the bottle with the bacteriophage must be shaken and inspected. The preparation should be transparent and free of sediment. The opening of the bottle and extraction of the required volume of the preparation can be performed with a sterile syringe by puncturing the stopper. The preparation from the opened bottle, provided that the storage conditions, the above rules, and the absence of turbidity are observed, can be used throughout its shelf life. Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery. The preparation does not affect the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and quick psychomotor reactions (including driving vehicles, working with moving machinery).

Overdose

Cases of overdose have not been reported to date.
