Paraffin is heated in a special paraffin bath until a viscous, sticky mass is formed. The melted paraffin is poured into a container in a layer of 1-3 cm, with the bottom of the container lined with cotton fabric. After a few minutes, the paraffin, cooled to 40-45°C, is applied to the affected area of the body in the form of a compress, which should be covered with a polyethylene bag and wool fabric on top. The duration of the procedure is 1-2 hours until the paraffin is completely cooled, after which the paraffin is removed from the body.
